Kelvin Grady Sort Of Kind Of Officially On The Football Team
Is this a stronger pronouncement than what was offered in Unverified Voracity this morning?
Kelvin Grady, who played the past two years as a backup point guard on the Michigan basketball team, is expected to join the football team. … Both U-M football coach Rich Rodriguez and Grady were unavailable for comment.
No quotes, no "sources"… eh, it's in a newspaper and serves as further confirmation. So, it's sort of official. Kind of.
Grady's scholarship is basically free this year since Michigan was five scholarships short of a full boat, and then he'll have two years to attempt to make an impact.
Can he play QB?
/obligatory.
It will be interesting to hear what, if any, guarantees were made regarding a scholarship after this year. I wonder if this is basically a one year tryout, or a three year deal.
I played against him in high school and he was a hell of a player. A good fit in the slot, it's a win-win here. Woot.
You gotta love a good fit in the slot. Or maybe a good fit in the love slot.
So you're saying that Michigan Football actually may possibly maybe get a former basketball player, and his name is not Paulus. That right there is win enough for me.
The timing on this has to be decent for Kelvin's chances, as well as the team's depth, as he gets the summer to practice with the team, right?
In all seriousness, and probably an unoriginal thought, maybe this encourages Kevin to do the right things to stay/get back on the team - whatever his status may be.
Can he still play basketball too?
Well, he CAN, but something tells me that he'd have to prove something to Beilein/the team before he did again. He did quit. Also, he'd have to change his playing style (ie, he'd need to play defense), which is something he seemed somewhat reluctant to do last year.

RE: You're not in the Big East anymore.
Dear RR,
So far you have recruited 75 slot WRs and 18 OLs. You cannot fill out an offense with only OLs and WRs. This is the B10. I demand some 5* LBs & QBs ASAP to commit to M. Also, some CBs and DLs. kthxbi,
Sincerely,
MA
if Kelvin eventually becomes the Grady that is a difference-maker on the field for Michigan instead of his 5-star brother.
why not bring in their cousins. they were good at the same division three highschool as well. im sure the transition to the big ten is smooth as silk. (sorry, im from the same town and was sick of the grady scene then, and sick of it now.)
well this ought to satisfy that dude who was so convinced about the wealth of quality players from West Michigan.
You can say all day that you were sick of hearing about them, but they were crazy good football players.
i was really good in grade school, noone ever seem to give me 5 stars too many heading into high school.
Kevin Grady fucked your girlfriend, didn't he?
you would have thought Al Bundy could have gone somewhere to play ball. i mean, 4 TDs in the city championship? legendary stuff right there. Go Polk High!
eh ... no Peg.
Jimmy Gerken, is that you?
