It will also be announced on twitter. I wonder if the wi-fi connection in the weight room is strong? Pfffft, my first hour teacher wouldn't have let me rock a smart phone during class. Granted, there were no smart phones 10 years ago, but still.

Honestly, if he was canceling the presser because his family couldn't be there, then maybe he should reschedule so they can make it (if that's possible that is).  It's a pretty big event in this young man's life I would imagine.  I would want my family there.

That being said, I hate waiting for stuff, so I'm happier this way.

WRT the whole family thing, they can probably try to find a time to get together and celebrate his decision after the fact.  Also, like you said about hating to wait for things, you'd have to think at this point this is weighing on him pretty hard.  Its hard to imagine he hasn't been distracted by this the past few days.  Probably wants to get it over with.

The kid is sticking to his timeline because he was tired of people texting, tweeting, and telling him he was flacky, wavering and indecisive.  He may have wanted to reschedule the presser but now he feels obligated to announce to stop being harrassed.  That is sad that people took his moment from him and he should reschedule so he can have his day in the sun.

That is sad. It's too bad that sometimes these kids can't enjoy the process of college recruiting and let it play out. I am as excited as anyone to see where he choses to play college football, but when a kid is pressured by fans to chose, it takes the fun out of it, especially for the player.

And has more success over his career, he'll probably learn not to worry about what anonymous assholes over the internet think and say, and do whats best for himself and his family. At that age I understand him trying to make all the fans happy, but I'm sure that can get draining after awhile.

And then you'd have a crapload of people calling you an "attention whore."

Maybe he's sick and tired of all the phone calls and texts and emails and tweets and FB postings from coaches, friends, friends of coaches, other players, relatives, classmates, churchmates, etc., and rescheduling a presser just so all his family can be present simply prolongs his agony.

Being a Cass Tech guy I would guess he's headed to UM, but I'm not going to go jump off a ledge if he signs elsewhere. Brady Hoke isn't going to win every recruiting battle.

Lets not forget that Sam said that after Ross did the radio segment with his family, that another recruit liked it and wanted to do the same.  I thought it may have been Godin, but I agree with you, that its Richardson.

I heard that Buffalo has the inside track here.  It turns out Terry Richardson really likes their coach, Kendall Gill.  And his favorite player as a kid was Nate Odomes.

Rivals database shows a trio of offensive lineman in the 2013 class. One of them, David Dawson should be a big-time kid. Not sure about the others.

There's also a DT Kenton Gibbs who Scout says has interest from OSU and Miami (YTM).

JUST STICK WITH A DATE AND TIME MAN!  Probably totally screwing w/ us and won't announce it till the bowl game or something.  Keep stringing us along.

everyone went from "what an attention whore"/"he's not coming"/fehfehfeihfi to the fact he, quite simply, didn't see the need for a press conference if it couldn't involve his family. this refutes every element of ire direct towards him for self-aggrandizing and shows it was hoped to be a "them" moment but, bc it can't be, it's not going to be a "him" moment. good for him.

myself, but I would think we have learned that maybe we should wait for an entire story to unfold before we crucify a potential recruit *again*. I'm with Geaux_Blue on this. If I were a recruit, I would have the press looking for a geocache with my answer written on a small slip of flash paper with invisible ink and promise an exclusive interview to the winner.

Let the kid have it on his terms.

Unless he chooses someone else, of course, upon which he should be rightfully ripped to shreds.  With golden tridents.
