NOT confident? why would you be " not confident " he has done nothing but show love for UM. Two of his good friends are fellow 2012 commits, one of which tweeted he would be commiting to UM but had to do a cover up ( RJS ). UM is the only school he has visited since I believe last summer. And the school he was considered to be a "lean" for ( MSU ), isn't even in his top at this point. You must know something I ( and everyone else on this board and recruiting sites ) dont know...

Hoke appears to subscribe to the Schembechler school of being straightforward and not flashy.  Holding a press conference seems a bit flashy and rescheduling is not very straightforward.

I hope that he goes blue and other than rescheduling a press conference, there is no reason that he won't, I was just giving my thoughts on the whole thing.

And breath everybody...

So you were serious....I was hoping more it was just failed sarcasm.

I'll bite. What exactly is wrong with a recruit having a press conference to have a decision, and exactly what qualities exist amongst kids that would make them "not a Hoke style recruit"?

IMO, this is nothing to be worried about. When you bump an announcement from an AA game, to August to a couple days then move it back 2 days, that doesn't signal a problem with his decision, more that there was likely a glitch in doing it when he wanted to. Contrast this situation with that of Ron Thompson who seemed like a lock and yet has indefinitely postponed his decision for months now with no end in sight. Thompson's postponement is probably bad for us. This is not.

It's frustrating as a new poster to have read the board FAQs and follow them to the best of one's ability, but then fall victim to unwritten rules.  You can't learn what those are without asking quesions or posting until everything sinks in...which is impossible to do in the face of discouraging negative points whenever a post is made.  It's a damned-if-you-do/damned-if-you-don't situation, which is cruel treatment for somebody who knows what redundancy, trolling, and flamebaiting is, and avoids those.

It doesn't have to be that way.

After seeing T-Rich's Facebook, where he was trying to get a hold of Armani Reeve's, and said they needed to talk badly. Wanted to inform him that Coach Hoke only sells tickets to the boat in pairs.

Oh, interesting.  I hadn't heard that at all.  Clearly I am not prowling the board sufficiently.  That would make sense though, if they're friends.  Reeves would be an excellent pickup as well, so I'd be totally okay with that.

If we only take 3 DBs, I really really want Jarrod Wilson to be one of them.  More so than any of the CBs, although I'd like any one of those CBs to go along with him.

Of the guys we have a shot with, he's probably the one I'm most excited about. I hope his coach (Ricky Powers) can persuade him to go to Michigan. I know people are excited about all the CBs, but it would be really nice to have an actual safety come in. Wilson and probably Foster (unlikely, unless we get him on campus) are probably the two I want the most.

Yeah, Jarrod Wilson is as good as any of those corners, and we need a safety more than we need another cornerback.  Also, it looks like we're in good shape for a few highly rated corners, so I'm sure we'll pick up one.  We're not as high on many safeties, and Wilson might be our best shot to get a good one.

Last i heard it was just goin to be " within the next couple weeks." I think it was actually in Tom's weekly update if I'm not mistaken.

How do you not visit any other school in months, visit Mich like 4 different times, have your two best friends commit already, SEE THE DEPTH CHART AT MICH FOR CB, see all of the Big MO that Hoke and MICH have created, and then go to BAMA? If this happens this says more about Saban being a recruiting god than anything else because ALL signs point to another big week for big blue!!

One more thing . . . .lets just guess for a blissful moment that where there is smoke there is a "Gunner" and he decides to commit, does this change things with Morris committing so early? I heard some talk that with Morris's committment we wouldnt be taking a high profile guy and mabe no QB at all. We would loaded at QB, but this would create quite a log jam of talent, and in todays world that doesnt equal dominance, but rather TRANSFER of someone ie:DG if Kiel would be the man.

What does the board think????

I highly doubt that would affect anything at all.  DG will not leave because a QB committed 2 years after him.  DG will be a junior (possibly a soph in eligibility) by the time Kiel would get here, and Denard would presumably still be here as well.  Since neither of them would likely be the starter, I can't imagine anyone would get scared off.  Plus, DG has seen how easily a starter can go down.

I also doubt Morris would be affected either.  He's a big time QB, and he probably thinks he can come in and compete right away.  Since Kiel would likely not RS, Morris could RS and get the reins all to himself for two years.

Lots of teams take a top QB every year, and some even take two top QBs in the same year.  Dayne Crist was a 5 star who committed to ND the year after they took #1 overall recruit Jimmah Clausen.  Last year, USC took 2 QBs who were both in the top 5 QBs in the country.

Either way, no doubt you take Kiel in 2012 and worry about what Morris wants to do later.
