Is Ron Thompson still announcing today?
Is Ron Thompson still announcing today? I know that he had prevously said that today was the day, but then seemed to back off a little bit. Also, I'm assuming that Matt Godin's announcement is still scheduled for tomorrow.
Would be awesome to follow-up Shane Morris with these two!
he has said a lot about delaying his recruitment because he is getting more national attention
I believe he's pushing it back . . . again.
Recruits these days have more drama then your average HS girl with a text-messaging addiction.
Well to be fair to them, their decisions have a lot more impact than your average high school girl.
What about the helpless playthings/loser-boy types trapped in classes with those txt monsters, totally at the mercy of their own hormones and the whims of their quasi-attractive HS female classmates?
awesome analysis, per usual.
I Gave up on Thompson as to when he is going to announce. I am looking forward towards Godin's decision announcement & possibly's T.Richardson's next week.
I'm just saying... although with Morris committing, I would think that our chances of landing a strong WR class this year & next just got a boost.
I had a hard time deciding where to go to school and I was just a regular LSA student, he has a chance at playing pro football if things work out in college. This is almost certainly the biggest decision he's ever had to make. He's taking his time; that isn't being a drama queen, just smart.
It's fine if you are having trouble choosing, but don't (repeatedly) push back press conferences. Wait until you've made up your mind!
Calling a 17-year-old a drama queen because he doesn't make his decision on your time table is a little asinine.
My god, I almost missed my train being stuck behind you. Just grab a fritter and go, man!
Well, goddamnit, I've been watching 16 year olds' twitters all morning, and I still don't know what you picked. Just tell us already!
It certainly sounds like he'll push it back. Reading between the lines, for me, looks like this. "Man, I really want to go to UM but they already have 2 TE commits and I'm just not sure I can get the PT there anymore. Delaying this much is a double-edged sword. I missed the chance to be one of the 2, but some other very interesting programs are now giving me attention because of it. If I knew for a fact that one of the current commits would become an OL, I would probably commit. Would at this point I would rather get a lot of PT at a school I can learn to love than have uncertainty at the school I really love."
My thought is that Hoke is a little undecided as well. If he really bad wanted Ron he would go ahead and make the speculation about likelihood of position change, but he's just not sure and he's honest enough to avoid simply telling Ron what he wants to hear when he's not totally sure it's true. I think Hoke wants to see a bit more of Ron and his pass-catching and blocking and if he falls deeply in love with the skills he'll put the press on him. Might not happen until the season.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Ron go soft verbal somewhere else and then it's anyone's guess.
Hoke has definitely been saying the right things by telling him that Funchess could end up as a WR and Williams could end up an OT. Ron Thompson would be the highest rated of the three, so you definitely still take him if he still wants in.
Well, he is the highest rated on Scout, but neither he, Funchess or Williams have received a 4th star on Rivals. There are a lot of TE's rated higher than all 3 on Rivals, so I guess it is all relative.
Wow...that's a hell of a lot of assuming.
Hey, Jethro did you even read TomVh's post? He's interviewed the kid.
