OT- Osama Bin Laden is Dead

Submitted by BiSB on

Apparently something big is happening in the world.  We have NO idea what.  But I suggest you get to a television.

The only thing they have said is that it is "national security related."

EDIT: Twitter is abuzz with a rumor that we got Bin Laden.  Waiting for TomVH to confirm. Also, If this is too political, feel free to delete.  But I thought this might generate some interest.

EDIT II: CNN confirms: the United States has the body of Osama Bin Laden.  War on Terror Muppets.

EDIT III: Thread locked to prevent the inevitable political flame war from escalating. [ZL]

I'd reverted to more of a reader/lurker than poster during the football off-season, but couldn't resist marking the occasion with tonight's news.

Good bye OBL you sonfabitch.   I hope you died a painful death cowering in some dark, dark place.  Looking forward to learning more about your demise.  Hope you enjoy your new digs in a much warmer clime.

Every time since 9/11 when I've had to take my shoes off at the airport, I've cursed your name and it has darkened my day even if for a moment.  But now I see a brighter future in which I will stand, still beltless, now splay-armed in that goddamned super security air blower machine, someone behind a wall remarking on the size of my wedding tackle, and I will smile.  In fact I might just cackle with glee.

Didn't they find Osama wearing an Ovechkin Jersey? ....Oh come on, all in good fun. Btw, I hope those Eastern Conference "gurus" that were so quick to predict how fast the Caps and the Flyers would come out of the East aren't feeling too bad about the big 0-fer put up so far...

...checking Mgoblog for a first confirmation on the news extremely satisfying. I didn't think twice about starting the app up and checking the board. FANTASTIC!

<br>P.S. A really hot waitress just informed me of the good news. That's all I got - I'm getting married. It's cool! Catch and release baby catch and release!

My wife's cousin was KIA almost a year ago in Afghanistan. She hasn't stopped crying since the news broke. He was going to stand up in my wedding, and I know that he is so fucking geeked right now, THIS is what he was there for. THIS is why he spoke so highly of the people he was there to protect. He gave his life for this cause, and I guarantee that he is smiling down right now.

No way I was totally thinking the same thing!  Voting's been down since the Malware Apocalypse.  The 'Moderation' can cave posts if you get down to a score of 0, but it has no effect on MGoPoints.

Anyways, when do you move to Detroit?  I'm breathing easier now that I'm not making pizza anymore and I only have 15 credits this term instead of 20.

I'm curious to see if a post can register above five points when they're back up for real.

And 35 credits? That should get your pre-med stuff out of the way completely, right? Isn't it just two courses in the three hard sciences and two courses of A&P?

Good for you, man. I'm getting by on transfer credits that IU creatively put into different science categories. Besides Environmental Science, which is required of all students in my college, I'm actually going to be graduating without a course requiring a lab. Then again, your career demands biology and A&P, and mine won't.

On another note, I find it funny the amount of people who went to college as pre-med, and are now in liberal arts or something that's actually math and not science, and conversely, the number of people who went in studying English and are now pre-med/pharm.

Damn. I hope WolverineHistorian has documented this tumuluous journey.

If everything goes according to plan and all the i's are crossed and t's dotted, I'll be settled into Detroit in August.

2/5 of the major broadcast stations (Columbus) have coverage of this story.  Some idiots on campus are jumping into Mirror Lake, which is Buckeye for "fuck you" so I say FU as well.

CBS, NBC & ABC covering... Didn't bother looking beyond that.  But local news coverage showed the gathering of people at Ground Zero.  Reporter said they started arriving 20 mins before her broadcast.   Call-in reports from parents, wifes of people killed in the WTC.
