Just saw this as well. Very interesting, gotta figure Michigan is in good position with the visits and the way the QB's played in the spring game. Anyone know where he was at this weekend on his final stop?
April 18th, 2011 at 10:54 AM ^
Believe he was at Auburn this weekend.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:01 AM ^
He's been to Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, and probably other schools since he visited us. I believe he was at Auburn this past weekend
April 18th, 2011 at 10:52 AM ^
Probably Georgia?
April 18th, 2011 at 10:56 AM ^
I'd be a little surprised if it was. My understanding is that Pike wants an opportunity to play early. But Georgia doesn't really provide that. Murray will be the starter for two years and then it's Pike vs. LeMay/Anyone else they recruit/is on the roster. Our situation isn't much better with DG here but that's still only 1 year of Denard then open competition.
April 18th, 2011 at 10:55 AM ^
Auburn, Michigan, or Pitt. He is just off a visit to Auburn this weekend. Any one else have guesses or good information on his final list?
April 18th, 2011 at 11:05 AM ^
Where did you get that list? I know I'm going to get negged for this, but he's come back from almost every visit saying the things he said after his Michigan visit. I think people are over-estimating our chances here. Some heavy hinting on twitter says it's Auburn
April 18th, 2011 at 11:25 AM ^
@jeramye Zeke Pike is deciding this week and I like Auburn's chances, but that is not the prospect I am talking about.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:32 AM ^
Nahhh, they just sound like a bunch of comformists.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:34 AM ^
Two of them, yes. But the other two are bloggers/writers for other schools' recruiting publications
April 18th, 2011 at 11:39 AM ^
Yeah it was more or less sarcasm, but if we don't get him I won't lose any sleep over it. Like Hoke said not everyone will choose to come to Michigan, all they can do is show them what a great place Michigan is and the opportunities that come with it. This isn't the first big time recruit to not pick to go Blue and it won't be the last, in time we will get someone else like Pike.
April 18th, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
They have a true freshman Qb why would he go there?
Why would the #2 ans #3 pro style quarterbacks this past year sign with USC since they are on probation???
dolla dolla bills yall!
April 18th, 2011 at 10:56 AM ^
Hopefully good news comes out of his decision for us. He is going to be a good QB and I would rather have him on our team than another. Could this be another piece to the Mega Class? I sure hope so.
April 18th, 2011 at 12:26 PM ^
Is commit #5 just around the corner?
April 18th, 2011 at 10:57 AM ^
I'll be eagerly awaiting a "gut feeling" from Mr. Webb.....
April 18th, 2011 at 11:00 AM ^
Version 2.0?? Yes please. Go blue Mr. Pike.
April 18th, 2011 at 12:19 PM ^
but I want someone who will beat OSU.
April 18th, 2011 at 12:25 PM ^
Henne played well against OSU. The only game he didnt is when he had the shoulder injury.
April 18th, 2011 at 12:54 PM ^
Henne did play against the two OSU teams to go to the national title game as well. All 4 years were BCS teams, not the best years to play against OSU.
on the road against then No. 1 OSU in 2006 just isn't good enough for you. Henne should have been out there on defense stopping OSU!
NOW THAT WOULD BE A REAL QUARTERBACK /s
that.

A kid goes on numerous visits, then a rumor makes the rounds this weekend during his Auburn visit that he committed to their coaches, and then he halts his recruitment and schedules a news conference.
Fill in the blanks. This kid is likely committing to Auburn on Wednesday.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:07 AM ^
The only question really is how big is the signing bonus.
Cost of doing business is going up...all it cost Tressel for Pryor was a Hyundai, a couple of loaners and a few tats.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:08 AM ^
Apparently, the Auburn QBs filling Cam Newton's shoes have not particularly impressed. The quarterback position being up for grabs makes it more likely that Auburn's the place for Pike.

I don't know, I'm not so sure that's the case.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:27 AM ^
Care to elaborate? Please, pretty please, with sugar on top?
*Backs away from ledge*
Thank you Tom
http://recruiting.arpreps.com/2011/04/05/zeke-pikes-take-on-arkansas/ He also said he got some advice from Mallett... so, you know, there's that.
Advice from Mallett indeed.
that the visit exposed something he didn't like, like possible sanctions, or improprieties, or some stupid hawk attacked his mom even though the mascot's a tiger or something like that.
Hey Mrs. Pike... we don't have any hawks.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:03 AM ^
I want Pike to come but if he doesn't I'd use his spot to make sure we could take both Bolden and Ross should they both want in. Since Devin would only be a RS FR I wouldn't take a QB this year and make it even more attractive to Shane Morris next year.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:06 AM ^
You take a QB EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.
Didn't 2008 make this clear to you?
April 18th, 2011 at 11:08 AM ^
Agreed. I can't handle any more lack of QB depth.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:19 AM ^
...especially when you only have three scholarship quarterbacks.
I don't understand this mentality. People want to go 4-deep at every linebacker position, and then they want to skimp on the QB position, which is the most important spot on the field, bar none.
If we take four linebackers this year, we will have 13 linebackers to fill 3 spots.
If we take zero quarterbacks this year, we will have 3 quarterbacks to fill 1 spot.
It's logic, people. We will take a quarterback, and we SHOULD take a quarterback.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:29 AM ^
And it's not like it is Pike or bust. I agree, we will be getting a QB, even if we pick up 4 LBs.
exactly, a lot of depth this year
April 18th, 2011 at 12:51 PM ^
Unless we switch to a 3-4 down the road, the ratios would be essentially the same at that point. Plus QB's don't play STs.
Now that I've plaid devil's advocate, completely agree that it would be borderline fireable offense to not take a QB this year. It's not an option.
It is an option to take 4 highly rated LBs this year given our desperate need of defensive high end talent. If LB is where the talent is this year, take it and go with it. I'd rather have four 4* LBs and one 4* DT than three 4* LBs and one 4* DT + one 3* DT.
who is this logic you speak of???
resume PAAAAAANNNNNNNNNICCCCCCCCCC
Srsly great if we get him but at least we find out now and dont waste 6 months recruiting him to get jilted @ the alter.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:08 AM ^
taking a *fourth* LB instead (after a loaded LB class last year) is a special kind of dumb. The same kind that led RR to fill >50% of his recruting classes with slot receiver and tweeners assigned to the "hybrid" position.
April 18th, 2011 at 12:22 PM ^
Just create a new log on already and save everyone from your over the top rants on RR as an attempt to save face for your lack of good judgement on the creation of your current one.
Edit: Also, it would be a good time to pick an avatar that doesn't induce seizures.
His user name makes his rants about RR comical. But, he does have a point about taking a LB vs a QB.

..If that's any consolation
