Just a heads up because I took a look at your posts before this and liked them, RR jokes don't get a lot of love here. We've all heard them a hundred times already and it's not particularly relavent to the thread.

Again, just a heads up because you joined a week ago and your other posts I can see were good quality.

Jesus, it's not enough that the man is gone that we have to contiually piss on his grave?  Rodriguez was ultimately unsuccessful, but he was remained classy on his way out and left without a bad word to say about an institution that, on a whole, treated him pretty badly.  More than can be said for the endless posters who continue to run him down at every turn.

Justingoblue has suggested that you are a poster of good quality.  I find that very hard to believe as you're registering quite high on my douchebag detector, but I've been wrong before.

He made a douchy statement, but if you click on his name, none of the rest (you can see five and he's only made six) are like that one. I didn't say anything other than the previous posts he's made are much better than that, so I would be more likely to look past a bad joke than I would if 5/6 of the posts he's made were the "Dick Rod sux lol" kinds of posts.

People do make mistakes, and reading the tenor of this board wrong after six posts isn't the worst thing that could happen. He could be here to get negged and piss people off, I don't know, but his previous stuff didn't look like that.

Obi was singled out here over and over and took more shit without anybody coming to his defense than Rodriguez..  He took  it despite being a freshman All American and All Big Ten Conference honorable mention as a sophomore.  And still I continue to read about how the highest paid football coach in Michigan's history was treated so poorly in Ann Arbor despite failings that go down in the history books.

I hope Obi makes a NFL team, not because I give a good god damn about Rodriguez, but because I'm a Michigan fan.

If a player decided to skip their college career and just practice the NFL combine for four years, if any teams would bite. It seems they would given the importance they place upon workout numbers.

I would be surprised if Ezeh gets drafted.  He had some back issues late in his career, but he put up Brandon Spikes-type workout numbers...minus the on-field production.

I'm betting he gets no love during the draft, maybe gets thrown a bone early on the day after.  Beyond that, it's all on him whether or not he can earn enough love to convince someone to keep him on roster for the fall.

Nothing against Obi... but I see him having legitimate troubles adjusting to NFL game speed.

He'll hopefully find a team that'll put him on the practice squad and he can work himself up from that.  Unfortunately, it doesn't speak well when his own fan base was screaming for him to be replaced all season.

"Saw this on National Football Post and wondered if I maybe coaching isn't over-rated..."

I'm not sure if I'm catching the tone of this post correctly.

If your implication is that Ezeh's initial measurables were lower at the combine than the subsequent measurables because of coaching - well, that's a bit of a reach.  The article clearly states that Ezeh had pneumonia following the New Years Day debacle.  I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure that pneumonia slows you down no matter who your coaches were.  Also, most people think Barwis was pretty good at conditioning the athletes, and it seems that the measurables this article focuses on would be ones affected by conditioning most of all.

If your implication is something else, I can't glean what it is.

I think the coaching blast was more towards the fact that this kid went from freshman All-American to a complete bum. I'm not a coach but our D seemed to always be out of place, making bad reads, and playing with mass confusion during the RR era.

I wish Ezeh all the best, this kid played hard and never complanined.

Wish Obi the best in the pros, but he might be one of those guys who looks great in shorts but doesn't quite get some of the finer points of schemes and positioning.  Still, always wish the kid the best because he seemed like a good soldier through some rough times and a good person all around.

Obi is not going to be drafted. That workout may have been an improvement, but not a big enough one. Steve Schilling is likely going to be the only Michigan player drafted this year, probably somewhere in the 4th-6th round. Jonas Mouton has an outside chance of being taken in the 6th or 7th round. Ezeh should get at least a tryout as an UDFA, if the labor dispute is settled before training camp.
