OT: Edit: Nice weather/Oberon/Why the hell are you on here? open thread

..but my uncle just brought over a six pack of Oberon for my dad's Master's party

It's also a glorious day despite the tigers losing to the Royals and I'm attempting to make the most out of a day where I've got nothing more to do than work on stuff for finals and watch golf. Thank you Bell's for brightening up my day and motivating me to get sent to Bolivia.

When I was there the first day of, well, this, studying became impossible because the first warm day was the day all the girls decided to work on their tans. You'd still around the field, but you're eyes were never on the book for long....

Of course, when I was in school, it was almost always the week of finals, so you have that going for you.

The title of this thread should be, "Why the hell are you on MGoBlog right now".

I'll start.........

I was looking for a new chicken marinade, and decided to stop in for a moment.

I'm here because I'm in the PacNW. The weather is crappy here. The Tigers lost. The Mariners are getting drubbed (surprise!). I suppose I'll leave here and go give the Masters my full attention now. At least I have no rooting interest in it, so I can't lose!

Anyone else find the Bells batch this year to be a bit lacking?  I have been disappointed the few I have had both on draft and in bottle.

I live off of stone school, so it is easier for me to pick up eisenhower run on it past briarwood and then pick up Ann Arbor-Saline rd south towards meijers. Sometimes I like to run up stone school to Packard towards campus. I hit 3.5 miles exactly in front of Angell Hall.

I'm in the doghouse big time. I was drunk and angry and when my girlfriend came by last night I basically blamed her for all of the world's problems. Then I passed out on the couch and she put a blanket on me and put a big glass of water on the table next to me for when I awoke. This will cost me big time. I'll probably have to go to one of her hippy charity functions and stay the whole time.

I did something similar in undergrad - had way too many $1 pitchers at Rick's during happy hour, crawled into her bathroom, puked, passed out halfway into the hallway. Missed our date, but woke up with a blanket and big cup of water next to me. Despite my colossal stupidity, she married me anyways.

I recommend you visibly enjoy the charity function.

Oberon is very much starting to taste like a mass producded beer. Its name has gotten too big, and more and more of it is in demand. It's no longer a craft beer, it's one that is just living off its past reputation rather than taste.

312 still tasted pretty good to me last time I had it. Sad to hear that goose island got bought out by anheuser busch. Probably downhill for goose island now.

Oberon's definitely been on the decline, but at least for me, that just takes it down to being "one of many beers I like" from "the only beer I drink over the summer". I got a 6 pack of 312 when I got my first 6 pack of Oberon to compare, and I still greatly preferred the Oberon.

Hoegaarden. Thanks for that, I always see that (and took a picture because of the luls had by the name since my humor occasionally slips into middle school mode again), and debate whether or not to buy it. Next time I'll give it a try.

My favorite beer so far was probably Circus Boy by Magic Hat, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to find it again.

About 6 years ago, I would say that Oberon was one of the best beers in the country if not the world. Success made them crave the ability to make more beer and the recipe and speed of brewing changed and it became just another beer in my opinion. Very sad for a Michigan beer that was so popular everywhere it was available.
