I posted the interview with Lion precisely because I thought there'd be some interest.  And even if some football fans didn't know much about golf, I thought that the 2011 Masters would get their attention and generate some new interest, when there was a guy from Michigan's golf team in the field.

But on a board where "golf clap" is used as an epithet against some fans, I thought that there'd be mixed feelings.  I knew that we had some current and former golf team members who were on MGoBlog.  And I was also aware that Lion kim himself knew almost nothing about MGoBlog.

The "golf clap" term is used as a joking way of subtly implying a "job well done."

I've never seen it used "against" fans.  And if you think so, I'm guessing you're interpreting it wrongly.   Maybe not.

If you're referring to making fun of blue hairs, well, I would say that's something different, entirely true, and not at all a negative reflection of golf.

I'm still in school and some of the loudest, craziest fans are huge golf fans.  Golf has become a multi-generational sport.

but the example of hating the golf clap is taken out of centext here.  I think most of the posters don't like golf clap AT the big house.

This means people can still like golf, but dislike golf claps at the big house.

That is great.  #1 hole is usually a very tough hole to get a birdie.  It seems like the conditions are perfect for some low scores today.
