TomVH: Quick Wayne Morgan Update
New York DB Wayne Morgan (5'11", 188 lbs) is at Michigan right now for his visit. They got in yesterday and are leaving today. He just sent me a text and said that Michigan offered him this morning.
Wayne already has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Miami, Penn State, Rutgers, and Syracuse. His coach told me that Rutgers leads right now, but mainly because it's where he's most familiar with. Morgan is really versatile, he plays quarterback, corner, and safety right now for his team. This visit could be big for Michigan, especially now that they offered. I'll have more from him once he takes off.

Great news, I hope one of the 28+ visitors today pulls the trigger

Wish it was in the 50's like last week (it's about 30), but the sun is out and the Big House should be in full glory

He just left, I'll have his quotes in the Weekly Update. He was buying Michigan gear for his coaches and mom while we were talking. Don't read too much into that, he had a great time but he's taking everything to signing day.

Nothing wrong with a silent verbal.
Edit: I believe this has to be a oxymoron.
Maybe he's a mime.
Not an oxymoron if you go by the actual definition of the words. Verbal simply means containing words, and everyone in sports uses it incorrectly when talking about commitments. The LOIs are verbal too technically. The word that conveys the intent when people say verbal is "oral" meaning spoken. So you can have a silent verbal commitment, but not a silent oral commitment.
NERD.
I kid I kid.
Is a big time prospect. Getting on campus is a coup...getting his to consider us would be golden.
He could get some playing time quickly with us as a safety. I'm thinking Mallory might have brought that up.....
This recruiting weekend is crazy. I often wonder how the recruits feel about one another. Do they look around at the other high level recruits there and imagine playing at that school with those guys, or do they feel competitive with other guys that may play the same position? Are they envious of time coaches spend with another guy? This weekend may have too many kids there for Hoke and Co to get much time with all of them. Is a big weekend maybe a bad thing for some kids?
I suppose any of those questions applies differently based on each individual. I'm a middle-aged guy who can't relate, but I imagine if I were a recruit I would see the crazy talent there and think that if we could all fit right together it would make for an awesome class - but some of the top guys probably get that everywhere they go or may not even care.
Yeah, I think I would see it as a a positive personally. But not because I'd be excited to play with those guys, I mean that might go through my head, but I'd see it as a positive because if so many other highly touted guys are taking their time to visit Michigan, it must be a big deal.
People often compare themselves to their peers and make decisions based on what other people like. It's kind of like the big time bars and clubs that always want their to be a line outside the door. Even if you've never been to that club, if you see that a lot of people are willing to wait in line outside just to get in, it must be a good time.
.......to just stand in the middle of Michigan Stadium, facing the scoreboard as the picture of a smiling Denard comes on. Instant commit every time.
i see camren williams commited to penn state, does this effect our status with amari reeves, i felt like we really wanted reeves and williams would have been a bonus

Is the Northeast loaded with talent this year? NY and MA are producing big time players this year.
