Who would you rather have?
Thought it would be interesting to look at the 2010-2011 stats of three basketball players. All were recruited heavily by Michigan, only one of which signed with Michigan. Who would you prefer to have on the team? A,B,C? I'll update in 24 hours with names if neccessary. Have fun.
Player | GP | Min | Pts | Reb | Ast | Stl | FG% | 3pt% | FT% |
A | 33 | 6.7 | 1.2 | 1.1 | 0.4 | 0.2 | 44% | 27% | 0% |
B | 31 | 34.4 | 16.3 | 5.4 | 2.1 | 1.4 | 40% | 33% | 57% |
C | 35 | 30.7 | 13.9 | 3.8 | 1.7 | 1 | 42% | 37% | 77% |
*This is not intended to say one player is, or will be, better than another. Just a fun excercise.

If I'm the coach, I got less minutes from C but nearly equal production. With more mintues in the future, C's numbers should surpass Bs. PLUS, I have better shooting and FT%.
I'll say C.

Meg Ryan now, or pre-plastic surgery?

If you post the numbers for C for his last 14 games or so this becomes an even more obvious choice...

I would go with C. Im guessing A is Prather. B is Ziegler. C is Hardaway?

You guess correctly. Thanks for saving me the update tomorrow.

Were they all recruited from the same year? Are these their high school stats from senior year and they signed this year? Or are they part of this years freshmen class? Were they recruited four years ago and now are all seniors? More info would make this even more fun.
Since these are supposedly this past year stats, and assuming they are all part of the same class, I guess I'll take the player that scores the most points, gets the most rebounds, and dishes out the most assists--Player B. I'll work on his free throw shooting, though. This seems too obvious so I'm guessing I am going to regret that decision, as it is probably a player who for some reason has been dismissed from current team.

Need to know team RPI or SOS to compare the competition they faced.

B played in the MAC on a crappy team and C tore up the Big 10.

you take Hardaway, now that the season is done. Ziegler put up points, but was kind of a mess. Prather sat on the bench, and did nothing. McCollum was the one guy who could have helped us, though with the 2011 class coming in maybe we are better off in the long run without him.

Bachelor C, describe your ideal first date...

A. Plays for a good team, one that's now favored to be in the Final Four, and has good players in front of him, and is no way indicative of what he'd have done with minutes to be had on Michigan.

Secondly, it's not a zero sum game...any reason we couldn't have had C and one of the others?
There may be enough data points to make an educated guess as to how Ziegler might have faired at Michigan, but not a guy used sparingly on an experienced team playing tonight for a trip into the Final Four.

I will take the one who went to Michigan for 500 Alex.
Hardaway played against better competition than the other two (extremely better than Ziegler's competition), but Prather didn't get as many minutes because he was on a better team.
I'd still take THJr easily though.
