Gunner Kiel or Zeke Pike?
Most of us on this board would be more than thrilled to add either of these QB's in this recruiting class. Given the choice however, which would you rather have? Both seem to fit that mold of big strong armed kids, that are the quintessential Michigan QB recruit.
Disclaimer: I'm well aware that our chances of obtaining Gunner Kiel's services are slim.
Both. 19*'s worth of recruiting talent in the backfield (if Pike doesn't get a fifth star it would only be 18*'s...poor us in that situation).
On the one hand, Gunner's name is "Gunner." On the other hand, Zeke's name starts with a "Z," which is cool.

Given the fact that I'm three classes ahead of Gunner and have played football with/against his older brother, Dusty (now for IU), I'll go with Gunner.
So the Kiel family has a son named Dusty and a son named Gunner?

There is also an older brother, Drew, who was played QB at Illinois State. Also, father's name is Kip. I had him as a coach in pop warner. Kip is a certified hardass.
With absolutely no empirical evidence to back it up, I am going to say confidently that coaches kids make better players. (forgetting Sheridan)
Being from Indiana, I suppose Kiel. Either would be great though. Kiel's probably a bit more polished as a pure passer at this point in his development, but it's not like we need one of them to start right away. Both have the potential to be great.
both "dual-threat" or not? If so, what does that say about the direction of the offense, in not only the short term, but the long term as well?
They are both "pro-style" QBs, but they can run too.

I'm inclined to go with Zeke but maybe I'm biased, given that he's visiting this weekend. He just seems to have a greater upside, and is the better athlete. Gunner reminds me a lot of Brady Quinn though, similar throwing motion and just seems to have a great grasp for the game.

Gunner is going to be the highest rated QB when the rankings come out (per Allen Treiu) so I would prefer him if the scouts think he is the best but there is something I really like about Pike too. I guess you should just be happy to have one of the two when all is said and done.

i heard scout named gunner the first five star qb and people say hes the best qb this year but personally i like pike better. gunner sorta reminds me of jake locker with better accuracy while pike reminds me of andrew luck. and he also plays LINEBACKER. wat a boss

On another note, I hope you guys end up with Mauk. I think he's a system guy and I don't want him on the Wolverines. It would also increase our chances with both Kiel and Pike.
He has the offers to back up his high rating, I like his size, he's local to indiana and ND needs to keep the few good players they can recruit from indiana in-state, plus he has an offer and visiting this weekend.
I would rather you guys got Mauk or anyone else really, where did that random missouri fan go, he can have him. Just something I don't like about him. I am confident ND still leads for him I don't think he is at the top of the board though so I doubt they will let him commit soon anyway.
