NCAA FIRST FOUR (Tues/Weds)

Submitted by MaizeyBlue on

After the first two games of the "First Round" UNC-Asheville and Clemson have advanced into the 2nd round.

In my opinion I can deal with these games happening on tuesday/wednesday but the NCAA has really screwed up playing Clemson in the FIRST game of the real tournament...  Clemson tips at 1215 on Thursday, in Tampa.  I understand that they were/are lucky to be in the tournament in this new "first four" format, but come on, at least give them an evening game.  They found out they had to get to Dayton on Suday night, finished their game around midnight in Dayton and play 36 hours later in Tampa.

sorry for that rant, I am pulling for Clemson, as I once had a radio gig in the Dayton area and coach Brownell was my first interview ever.  He is a great coach, 6 straight 20 win seasons at 3 different schools, only 42 years old and at least 19 wins in 8 of his 9 seasons as head coach.

In other news the Va Tech/Colorado's of the world are even more upset that UAB was in that game tonight.

If anything this goes to show that the selection committee messed up, and who is the chair of the committee? Ahh yet another reason to rag on tOSU, gotta love it.

That's terrible.  I'm definitely pulling for Clemson to gut that out but the quick turnaround is probably going to kill them.

I think they royally screwed up starting the tourney before Thurs. I bet there are tons of people like me that usually run brackets every year. I didn't even start really looking at the thing until yesterday and I was pissed. Two days isn't enough time to organize a bracket, get everyone to finish and turn in, and I am now just writing in the winners so that people have more time to fill them out. I don't think people on the commitee understand that betting is why this thing is so popular. Let's face it, you won't root for teams you've never heard of if you don't have money on the line.

All they know is that they GET TO play again soon.  Clemson could play that game at noon today and it would not matter.  This is tourney time man.  They just want to play.
