Bobby Hurley Dove commercial

Submitted by BrewCityBlue on

Bobby Hurley is in a Dove commercial and I couldn't help but think there were possibly some shots at the Fab5 doc in it, though most likely accidentally.

Anyone else see the commercial?

He's talking throughout the commercial about what he had to overcome and what made him a winner and then at the end he says "I'm Bobby Hurley, and I'm comfortable in my own skin."

If i'm not mistaken there was something in the doc referencing Webber "never being comfortable in his own skin"

Could be a total coincidence. I found it amusing either way.

Oh yeah, and F U you little prick.

I hate Bobby Hurley.  There.  That wasn't so bad.  Very cathartic, in fact.

Seriously.  I was at the Duke-UM game @ Crisler during the Fab Five's frosh year.  The atmosphere was beyond electric.   And the Dookies were beyond spiteful.   Never had I hated a team more than that Duke squad.  And Hurley was the ringleader.

I will never use Dove  (never have, and now I never will).

Yeah, totally forgot about the horrible accident.  How 'bout if I mature a little and say that I hated him on the court while at Duke?    Like the Fab Five documentary made painfully clear, everyone thought Duke was soft...a bunch of pampered prima-donnas.  But I have to begrudgingly give him kudos for being a tough little bastard on the court.

I'm still not buying Dove, though.  :)

I hated Duke with a passion and have to say Bobby Hurley more so than anybody. I played PG my whole life and still hated this ugly weasel dick master splinter fuck. 'Overrated Pussy' was a close 2nd.

I'll give him credit that he was a tough son of a bitch & had skills, but doesn't mean I can't hate him.

For the record, if Jalen went to Duke he would have had his job before end of his Freshman year

I have nothing for the subject line, it's just talent

I do all that and then I press preview and I use Chrome and it always goes to a server error page so I can't see what I'm submitting and I get nervous because I think oh no what if i'm just posting a reply full of code I'm going to look like an idiot and be ridiculed in front of all my online friends so I generally just post the youtube link since it goes to a lightbox thing anyway and I avoid posting images altogether which really sucks because I feel like I have some damn good images to contribute but I might as well hold back until the easier style comes back and is Tracy Wolfson 4'10" or what?

I use Chrome as well and rarely have an issue, especially with copy and pasting a embed.

There are not any issues I am aware of that has hindered the posting of pictures. Just drop the url into the proper box under the image tab...

Come on, try it, give us a good image

I have a crystal clear memory of that.  After the game and more than 2 hours of the typical fawning over Hurley and Duke they asked Krzyzewski  what Bobby said before he had to leave the bench. Krzyzewski, in all of his pale splendor, repeats Bobby's words (as I remember them) "coach, I have to go the locker room, I have diarrhea."  It still makes me laugh.  The interviewer so much wanted to hear something else, like both of his ankles were broken and he got that.

I don't think it has anything to do with it. I don't hate the guy I'm indifferent towards him. I've met his kid so I don't want to randomly hate their dad. But I do agree with the Fab Five.

I doubt the ad had anything to do with taking a jab at the fab 5. You are just looking into to it too much. I doubt Hurley sits around trying to come up with way to take shots at the fab 5. He's moved on I'm sure.

Bobby Hurley was on the Dan Patrick radio show earlier this week (at least, that's when I heard it).  Patrick was asking him all sorts of questions about the Fab Five documentary and Hurley had quite a bit to say actually.  Among other things, he said they didn't recruit Jalen Rose b/c he would've been stuck on the bench anyway.  Said they would've loved to have Webber.  I can't blame the guy for standing up and talking some smack but I hated him while he was at Duke also.  I do feel bad about his accident and what he probably went through, but he's on his feet and assistant coaching so good for him I guess.
