Michigan will play in the West on Friday as an 8 seed against Tennessee in Charlotte, NC (wtf NC is West?) - after their win they will likely face Duke

UNC had success with a quick tempo and capitalizing on transitions. I can see D-Mo getting a quick outlet pass, pushing the pace, going the length of the court and either finishing at the basket, dishing to THJ or kicking it out for a three.
We gotta beat 14-loss Tennessee first, but I think we're in a good spot.

Don't forget how tough we played Kansas and OSU this season (both #1 seeds). We should have beaten Kansas and nearly made the greatest comeback ever yesterday against OSU. Both those teams are superior to Duke IMO.

After so much talk of a 10/11 seed, I didn't expect an 8 and the prospect of potentially playing a #1 seed so soon. Here's to hoping we take out Tenn. One game at a time.
Gotta stick with the same motto the team's had the last month or so: every game is the most important of the year. Obviously that's especially true in the NCAA tourney, but with Duke looming in the next round people could overlook Tennesee. They played Kentucky tough in the regular season and beat Memphis and Vandy (twice).
I forgot to mention that Tennesee also beat a very strong Pittsburgh team (granted it was early in the year) and a tournament team in Villanova
They were in control for most of that game despite playing a pretty poor game. If we would've won that game, it would have been more appropriate to say it was a game we had no business winning.
That said, I think the difference between Kansas and Duke is that Kansas has more size. I think we match up much better with Duke.
I don't like the second match-up either, but all these tough games we've been having to play are really gonna help the team down the road considering how young we are.
I almost wish we would have drawn a 10-12 seed so wouldn't have to face the 1 seed in the 2nd round.
There will be no greater feeling than beating Tennesse then knocking off Duke in a virtual home game for them. Watch the Fab Five documentary tonight for reasons to hate Duke if you don't already.
Oh I've hated Duke since I was a small child and we do have a history of upsetting Duke in the regular season. I was just hoping to have a more favorable draw so we could watch our team in the sweet 16 for the first time since Lord knows when.

Duke fans will obviously outnumber us, but the NCAA tournament draws a more corporate crowd - it's not like playing them in Cameron. Their students will be up in the nosebleeds.

Yeah a week ago, how about before the season when most of us would have been overjoyed with an NIT bid? Beilein sure has gotten the most out of this young team. Can't forget B.A. and Lavall either though, like Beilein mentioned right before addressing us at Crisler.
I love the idea of playing the Vols......not sure about the Blue Devils......that will be an intriguing one.
That second round matchup scares me though.

State squeaks in. Good for the Big Ten but it would have been nice to see them in the NIT.
They may have "squeaked in," but man their bracket seems awful easy to me.
I totally agree that Illinois has the tougher path than State. Like us, if they win the first round game they play Kansas and I think they have no shot at winning that game. State on the other hand plays an up and down UCLA team with a potential second round matchup against Florida. I think Florida is a stretch at a #2 seed, especially after being destroyed by Kentucky. If Kalin catches fire MSU can make a run.
Do not fear Duke ever! Get past Tennessee first though. Nothing will come easy.
