OSU admittedly decided to go light on Tressel

They considered banning him from spring practice and summer workouts, but decided against it.
They go can go as light as they want on old exclamation marks but the NCAA will have the last say on this matter. As of late it doesn't seem like they are fucking around, which doesn't bode well for them either. If Auburn thinks they are out of the woods they are sorely mistaken. By the time this season kicks off our extra stretching will be long forgotten.
the first letter they sent to the NCAA is still out there, and speaks of additional punishment they had actually imposed rather than "considered." But who would expect OSU's president and legal department to proofread a letter before signing it and sending it to the NCAA? It was five pages long, for gosh sakes -- who can remember what you said on page one ("several game" suspension, spring practice ban) by the time you get to page four?

just as damning as you can get.
The guy from Columbus says: "They should take away the wins from 02 (Clarett), 04 (Troy Smith) and last year because of playing ineligible players. Tressel's record is 9-1 over Michigan on the field, but you take away all the wins from when they played ineligible players and the record is not that great."
I hope this guy goes down.
But I don't want record-book changes. Tressel is 9-1 vs. Michigan, and that can't be changed until Michigan beats him and OSU on the field, starting with this November. First, 2-9, then 3-9, etc.
I want record changes.
Tressel's credibility has been built on his record against Michigan which was achieved by, surprise, epic levels of cheating. He doesn't deserve those wins and didn't earn them legitimately.
Jim Tressel, the Jimmy Swaggart of coaches. I'm waiting for the mea culpa: "Ohio State fans, I have sinned against you:" with tears.
And Michigan's not going to start beating him and OSU on the field until both schools are competing on a level playing field, something that obviously hasn't occurred over the past ten years.
This is a fantastic listen. Thanks for posting it !! tv
They're going to get absolutely hammered by the NCAA. Good.
What will it take before a pattern of abuses is leveled against OSU?
I am impressed they had the courage to ground him for two weeks for two BS games at the start of the season. Lack of institutional control? I think they have a pretty bad case there in Columbus.....is it OSU President Jim Tressel in reality?
Tressel should not be fired for this. If that happens they cannot fire him for losing every game that he coached against Hoke. As much joy as I would get from watching them squirm to try to find a coach at this point in the year I think it will be that much sweeter to know that he just couldn't outcoach Hoke and all the little Hokemaniacs.
