Congrats to Brendan Morrison.  My question - Where is Turco, 2-time national champion and NCAA all-time wins leader?

So, I know this is way, way OT, but it's just too good to pass up.

Long recognized super-genius and Orator to kings and Gods alike, Jose Canseco, explains gravity. <<link

Is he setting up an insanity defense for something the feds are after him for? Or is this just a cautionary tale about the dangers of roids?

I am posting this purely as a PSA for those of you, like myself,  who might not generally click on the links under the mgo.licio.us section. If you are one of those souls, you absolutely MUST click on the "don't click here" link (Brian just wants to Bogart all the fun for himself, I suspect).

Seriously, click on that link NOW. Your life will be so much better for having done so.

Well, they've done it again!

The bright folks at the WWLIS (aka ESPN) have seen fit to show OSU against a TERRIBLE opponent on national T.V for a second time this season. The OSU @ Minnesota game is going to be shown at 8 PM on ABC this Saturday.

Remember earlier in the season when we were treated to a 3:30 PM ABC showdown of Eastern Michigan @ OSU? Now this classic against 1-7 Minnesota?!?!? I can only assume that someone in the ESPN T.V. scheduling department has a serious hard-on for OSU.

The reason I complain about this is that I watch T.V. so infrequently (pretty much just college football games) that I don't bother to get anything but basic cable, so I don't get ESPN and its myriad variants in HD. The only games I can watch in HD are on the major networks and I get forcefed an OSU v. Minnesota game. Seriously? I guess it is a conspiracy to force everyone to upgrade to digital cable.

So, I am sitting around watching the 2008 Michigan vs Wisconson game last night on the Rotel Netword.  I mean, the Barbasol Network--you know what I mean--and it hit me.  The 2008 Michigan offense is at least one of the worst offenses Michigan has ever fielded.  Those boys were like a one legged man at a butt kicking contest.  They tried their level best and left everything on the field, but the results were painfully unspectacular to say the least.

So, how did these guys pull off the greatest comeback in Michigan Football History?

Yes, it is a rhetorical question.

During this great dearth of football news I thought it might be kind of fun to start a thread that lists the many great ironies, enigmas, anecdotes and oddities that Michigan has experienced through the years.  The Brain Cook, being the engineer talking guy that he is, likes numbers and charts and graphs and stuff and so do many of you, but I like stories.  They are far more entertaining.  So, I thought I would throw this out there to all of you and see what kind of accumulation we could get.  Call it light reading if you will.

Anyway, with all the people who visit this site and all their accumulated years of U of M fandom, we should be able to put up a sizable list.

Ready, set, go!

So anyone who has read any of the threads on this message board since October, will know that the state of the Michigan fan is not a good one. 8 wins in two years in football, hell seems like just yesterday we were all bitching about only winning 8 or 9 games a season. The complaining continues with Rich Rod's recruiting class, which has seen a lot more 3 star recruits than normal. This plus the awful start by our basketball team has a lot of fans ready to pull the proverbial trigger of a loaded gun. I have been a Michigan man for 29 years, I cried when we won the National Championship in '89, cried again when Webber called the timeout against North Carolina. Celebrated like a mofo when we won it all in '97. Well my friends, tough times call for steadfast individuals. Remain true to your beloved Wolverines, don't hate, we will return to glory it is only a matter of time. GO BLUE!
