OT: Click Clack - Northwestern's move to Under Armour

An article from Lake The Posts, a Northwestern blog, that discusses in depth the switch from Adidas to Under Armour. There are a lot of interesting tidbits in it, especially for those of you in the Chicago area.

Northwestern is the showpiece for Under Armour in the Big Ten and against the backdrop of the traditional palette of the conference’s traditional powers, they have a real opportunity to stand out. Do you think Nike is going to take risks with Penn State? Northwestern has something that no other Big Ten has and without the long-standing tradition that other schools have, you’d expect there will be some things they can do to really stand out.

It seems as if Northwestern is taking a calculated risk that probably will pay off for them in the long run. I can't wait to see what UA dreams up for their football uniforms.

Just came across Chris Brown's article regarding the 2000 season's infamous 54-51 NU victory over Michigan. I was at the game, and though we lost, it was still one of the most exciting games I've ever seen (and I was at the 1998 Rose Bowl and Under the Lights)!

You might recall a few weeks back when we addressed the four proposals that fans could vote for on Facebook and touched upon the one rods-and-cones-scarring possibility that the court would end up looking like this. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and the least awful option was selected.

Below is sample illustrating how the stained floor will actually look upon completion:

That’s actually not too shabby. You know what? Democracy: sometimes, it actually works!
