I think we're headed for another RIP thread. But "official" reports indicate that Kimbo Slice was taken to a hospital and "it doesn't look good".

Link when I get it in a minute.

EDIT #2: Apparently he's gone. Allegedly his cousin confirmed that he had a heart attack and could not be revived.

**Update--McGregor has been pulled from UFC 200.

Just saw this from today. I haven't watched much UFC in quite a few years but I'm glad to see a guy making the smart move for long term longevity, although details are lacking on timetable. I feel like UFC has gotten increasingly brutal as there has been more and more parity in the sport. It used to be that there were such mismatches in style or talent or athleticism that a lot of fights ended quickly. I know there are still quick knockouts or submissions but a lot of these guys stand in and just go toe to toe pounding on each others faces round after round now.

The argument was always that the little gloves actually prevent injuries and no one has ever died in the octogon so it's so much safer than boxing and it's repeated blows to the head, etc. The article references that a guy died after a recent fight, I hadn't seen that anywhere before.

How the UFC doesn't come under as much or more scrutiny as the NFL is kind of silly to me. I know these are grown men and they make their own decisions but I for one would be glad to see McGregor go out while he still has all his faculties.

From Michael David Smith at MMAFighting.com:

Bettor Hits on All 12 UFC 131 Fights, Makes $51,547

Picking winners in mixed martial arts is never easy. The sport is unpredictable, the fighters at the highest levels are usually fairly evenly matched, and every event has a few surprises.

That's why what one bettor did this weekend is so impressive: He got all 12 fights right at UFC 131, and put his money where his predictions were. The online sports book Bodog.eu confirmed on Monday that a bettor (who has not been publicly identified) put down $200 on a 12-fight parlay, went 12-for-12, and made $51,547.

Very impressive, especially to go 12 for 12 gambling on MMA.

I hit a 6 team NFL parlay for $300 a few years ago in Vegas but nothing like this.

Do any of my MGO brethern have some good gambling win or loss stories?

This is going to be quite the entertaining fight.  Great build up.  It seems that Evans is in super condition.  That is a huge plus.  Plus Evans is a super wrestler.  That being said, Rampage hits like a sledgehammer.  The knock is that Rmapage has focus issues.  I do't see that this time.  Not to mention he's crazy.  I go with crazy every time.  Rampage by KO.

For those of you who are not familiar with Mariusz, he is known for his success in Strongman competitions. He has won the event 5 times, and was runner up twice. Needless to say, this man is a beast.

He made his MMA debut tonight, and all I can say is that this guy is literally a man-bear:

His technique is obviously lacking and his opponent was garbage, but WOW. Here's to hoping he seriously commits to MMA and so we can see more of him

edit: EFF I'm slow. Here I come neg city!

So the strikeforce fight just ended. Fedor is as good as advertised, landed some great strikes, had some incredibly smooth wrestling, and is tough as nails. That last punch was about as hard as I've ever seen someone get hit. Really hoping he steps in the octagon against Lesnar sometime soon.
