"Nothing will compare"

"Nothing will compare"

Interesting take on the DSU game from Delaware's perspective.

But rather, falling prey to an experienced Michigan team that made itself at home in every facet of its game plan.

I didn't know Michigan was experienced.

Elko said he will carry the memories of playing at Michigan Stadium with him. But no longer will he feel rattled by the competition or hostile environments he'll face throughout the remainder of his career.

"Nothing will compare," he said.

They enjoyed the shellacking though:

Despite the lopsided nature of the loss, though, Delaware State players acknowledged afterward they would trade another conference game for a chance to compete on a stage like Michigan Stadium.

"I believe the experience was worth it," running back Nick Williams said. "I mean, who gets to play in the Big House? That's a great experience for anyone.

I'm glad Michigan made their season.

Overlooking Delaware State

We (fans, hopefully not the team) are severely overlooking this opponent. They may be a bad FBS team, but what makes us think that we can overlook anybody when we won 3 games last season, lost to a FBS team in 2007, have two freshman quarterbacks running the offense this season (one with a concussion), are without our best football player, and are currently in the midst a two loss streak?

Yes, we have a much improved team. Yes, we should win. Yes, Penn State is next week. But I don't think it's appropriate to be so overwhelmingly certain of a win this weekend. There is no reason for it, and the only thing it can do is lead to disappointment. I know I will be looking forward to the game and am happy that we have an opponent that we can and should beat. Let's just not pass the game off like it's an inconvenience.

P.S. I should probably mention my superstitious inclinations...

I was checking both Time Warner and DirecTV for this weekend's game. TW, at least in my area of Ohio, near Columbus, is carrying the OSU game in HD. DirecTV has OSU as its primary game (in HD), but also has channels designates as BTNa, suggesting alternate coverage, and they indeed show Michigan-Delaware State, but there is no HD designation.

Does anyone know if the game is in HD on these alternate channels?

Michigan vs. Delaware St. - The Bands

Michigan vs. Delaware St. - The Bands

So I was listening to the morning show on WTKA and they were talking to The Angel, and started talking about how good DSU's band is, and what a treat it will be to see them. And as this game will be over by the 2nd quarter, I figure people's minds will wander, and there may be more attention paid to the bands than usual. And if they are really good college band, are we in any danger of them looking a lot better than our band, considering all the problems people have had with the MMB this year? I figure it's a slow week, and frankly, the bands might be more compelling than this game. So if the Michigan Band doesn't bring their A game, I have a feeling a lot of people are going to certainly be able to hear DSU's band better than ours. Though at this game the crowd should be laid back and quiet enough that they shouldn't drown out anything.

Hey I'm trying to get two tickets for the Deleware State game. I'm a poor college student at Bowling Green who does not have 50 bucks for a football game and I figured this is the game to get tickets for.

And plus I wanna see me some Denard Robinson for at least a whole half.

Anyone got any ideas?

ps. I'll be wearing my nick sheridan #8 jersey to the game =) got it for ten bucks last year at a foot locker!
