Didn't see this posted, but Harbaugh got some pretty good heat on his first pitch at the White Sox - Cubs game Wednesday. Looks like he's been practicing a bit since his first pitch for the Tigers.

Will attempt to embed video in comments, but here is the link.

and another from MLB.com

Edit: Looks like he also borrowed Matt Szczur's shoes? You can see him taking them off at the end of the second video.

OT: Carlos Zambrano retiring?

OT: Carlos Zambrano retiring?

It appears that after a rough outing against the Braves, Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano has cleared out his locker and told locker room personnel that he is retiring. In the 5th inning of the game, Zambrano had just given up back-to-back HRs, which totalled 5 HRs allowed for the night and was ejected after two close inside pitches to Chipper Jones, the 2nd barely missing him. Personally I hope he retires and we never have to hear any more about him.

Quade was perplexed by the chain of events that occurred.

"I came in, saw there was an empty locker," Quade said. "Then I heard that he was retiring, that he had left."

According to clubhouse personnel, Zambrano said he had enough and left Turner Field before the game ended.

Carlos Zambrano, the cubs opening day starter, is getting moved to the bullpen to make room for Ted Lilly. Zambrano has a career ERA of under 4.00 and is a former all star. I guess Piniella thinks Carlos Silva and Tom Gorzelanny starting with big Z in the bullpen is the best use of his pitching staff. Either that or Piniella is insane.
