Thought this was kind of funny, we need to get some of the current Michigan team to do a video of this quality... Not sure what song they would want to do, brought me back to the days of Coner and Tone Clem (before he defected to the Buffs)... Enjoy!

Catching up with The Coner

Catching up with The Coner

For all the excitement of this roller coaster of a season, there has been a palpable lack of CONER this year.  When we last left Georgia's Finest he was going full force into an acting career, but it's been a while since we last heard what the stud was up to.

FRET NO MORE!  Presenting: The Return of the Coner!

EDIT: Can't figure out why my resizing efforts are failing, mod help appreciated.

I stumbled upon this song called "Welcome to the Big House" and while it makes the huge mistake of calling itself a theme song, it's worth a listen. Some of the lyrics are clever, but I'll reserve judgement on the rest of it. Would sure be something to hear it blasting from a frat on gameday or something.

It definitely needs more Coner.

I am, regrettably, all out of Michigan tickets for the year. However, should I get any others, especially for the OSU game, it is my full intent to take a sign to see if I can get Coner to do a farewell sideline rap. He really should do one at the stadium before he goes.

On that note, we will need a new Cone for the 2010 season. Does anyone know if Jack Kennedy does some soft shoe or magic tricks or something? It will make for a very boring season if Michigan's 4th string QB doesn't show up on YouTube occasionally doing something awesome.

In the article linked to on Mgo.licio.us "What I've learned with David Cone" (a must read), Coner mentions a potentially awesome tidbit:

I made a few short films this year. I submitted one called The Last Straw to the Statesboro Film Fesitval back home and it won second place.

We HAVE to find a way to get our hands on this.

So I have a friend who has a friend who is a team manager. He filled me in on this info yesterday:

1. Woolfork will play cornerback tomorrow
2. Boubacar was put on like the scout team defense as a response to his very negative attitude, however he has had a much better attitude in recent days
3. For some reason the Coner was lined up at receiver to run a route wth Boubacar defending and he caught a pass.

Dammit if I wouldn't have bought a shirt by Six Zero if it were a picture of a kid in a t-shirt with a traffic cone over his head with the subtitle "Coner." i DARE 60 to make this shirt and present it as an option. i'll buy 10*.

i'm sorry but you know Coner has to search the internets and the amount of guff and mascot-level status he has become on this site and others... i want to buy the kid dinner the day his eligibility is done and it's legal to. he seems like a good enough kid and he's taken his spot with zero transfer attempts or public complaints. he didn't leave when he found out he'd always be 3-4 back. he knew the sidelines would be his place and i think that's awesome. maybe even moreso than Sheridan because at least he knows what it sounds like to hear the crowd roar when it's HIS pass that scores

(* i don't have this type of money but such a phrase gives authority and credibility immediately to any sort of commercial claim)
