After 8 years of being #1 beer in America, Pliny the Elder was dethroned by Michigan's very own Two Hearted Ale. Not only that, but Bell's was named the #1 brewery in America with Founders as #2. Represent!
It's finally here. The long winter of our discontent is finally over. March 27th heralds the realease of the 2017 Oberon.
While parts of the US get Oberon year-round (I'm glaring at you Florida and California), those of us in Bell's homestate of Michigan only get it seasonally. So get out your orange slices and enjoy the reminder that Summer is right around the corner.
If you like craft beer AND variety, then you will have a busy summer if you live in the Ann Arbor area. Here is each one:
Salt Springs Brewery is opening in a former church building in Saline
Pointless Brewery & Theater After the wife gets a devastating lung cancer diagnosis, an Ann Arbor couple is opening a brewery/theater (cool idea. Sorry: Freep link)
Glasshouse Brewery will be opening on the west side of Ann Arbor off Liberty near Wagner road
Ypsi Ale House is set to open in downtown Ypsilanti sometime this summer
Craft beer enthusiasts, we have our work cut out for us.
EDIT: Thanks to BJNavarre for pointing out that there is (at least) a 5th one opening, also in Saline: Stony Lake Brewing
I know it's Tuesday night... it's the offseason, not a lot going on football wise. Decided to get a mix and match six pack at my local beer store and relax for the rest of the night. I got four founders Dirty Bastards, Broken Promises by Greenbush Brewery (wheat IPA) and Hop City Brewing Co. HopBot IPA. Question is...What are you drinking?
