Good Morning Gang,

Thought I'd pass along this article (LINK) as it makes for an interesting read. It will come to no one's surprise that Eddie McDoom made the first team WR selection. Also, former commit, Sir Patrick Scott (of Maryland) gets a mention as well.

Enjoy. Discuss amongst yourselves. Whatever you kids are into these days.

Since Hyattsville (MD) DeMatha offensive guard Terrance Davis has been sending some strong Michigan signals lately, I went ahead and put together an evaluation. It seems like he's the lineman most likely to drop for Michigan right now.

In-state Preview of 2016 Recruiting

In-state Preview of 2016 Recruiting

With the 2016 recruiting cycle officially beginning recently, I compiled a list of 38 in-state prospects to watch for the upcoming class. Several already have Michigan offers, and I think a few more could come. And even if not, there are guys on this list who will end up playing against Michigan in the coming years or who might be from your old high school. Enjoy!

Tuesday Football Visitors

Tuesday Football Visitors

247 is reporting that two Michigan top target and best in-state football players for 2016 class are visiting this coming Tuesday for the MBB game (eh, must be another overtime game):

Donnie Corley (WR) and Khalid Kareem (DE)

Both are not commit-watch type of guys at this moment so no buckle-up needed.

Really miss the 6-commit-a-day fest.

And here...the moment that four of you have been waiting for...the one...the only...(unless Michigan recruits more of them)...

2016 QUARTERBACK SCOUTING REPORTS!!!!!!!!!!1

Okay, but seriously. Over the past week, I've been looking at the quarterbacks Michigan has recruited throughout the 2016 cycle. This includes a couple guys that Hoke recruited but maybe have not necessarily been actively pursued yet by Harbaugh. I then went through and ranked the guys in order of their fit with Michigan/Harbaugh.

Have at it if you wish:

He's in Northern California right now on a recruiting trip.  Not very notable in and of itself, but I noticed that Steve Lorenz posted Harbaugh's coach page from 247 sports and it shows that he visited seven(!) different recruits today, including super 5-star LB Caleb Kelly and his teammate Darian Owens.  Kelly is the #12 ranked player and #3 OLB on the 247 composite, and Owens is ranked #119.

In addition he visited a number of other very good players, none of which have any listed in Michigan, and none of which were recruited by Hoke's staff.  All of these guys seem like extreme longshots, so if Jay can get any of these guys to come he'll be worth his spot on the staff, IMO.

EDIT:  These are all 2016 guys, so there's time to build interest.

Rivals rankings for 2015 and 2016 updated

Rivals rankings for 2015 and 2016 updated

Well, with Ace resting up this week and not a lot of Michigan-related recruiting news over the past couple weeks (other than Mike Weber committing to OSU), I thought some recruiting rankings news/discussion might be interesting.

Over the past two weeks, Rivals updated their rankings for 2015 (top 100, top 250) and 2016 (top 100, top 250). All three of Michigan's 2016 commits are hanging out in the bottom third of the rankings, and three out of six 2015 commits are in the top 250.

By the way, Michigan is currently ranked #88 in recruiting. Coach or not, I think that's the lowest I've ever seen them ranked. They'll surely move up once a new coach is in place and a few more players hop on board, but...yikes.
