Yesterday we netted a gain of 1 territory. We won Kent State, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia while losing Umass and Temple. Temple was an expected loss as that was our agreement with Clemson. As a reminder please do not attack Clemson territories. We are working with them to eliminate OSU, so attacking Clemson is really like playing for the Buckeyes, and none of us want that right?

Please don't attack any Clemson territories today. We have agreed to a non-agression pact with them today, so we can focus all of our efforts on OSU.

We usually announce plans of what we want to attack/defend in the evenings, but we discuss strategy all day. Be warned though, there will be a vetting process to join the discord as we have had some mole issues from OSU. Even if you don’t pass the vetting process, we can still provide less-secret instructions in the general chat so that you can still help us towards our goals until we can fully 100% trust you.

Additionally, we have formed "The Blue Alliance" with Florida, Georgia Tech and Texas. If you would like to meme about this, go to: www.reddit.com/r/CFBRisk/

Instructions as to how to play:

At the beginning of the game. Every team was assigned one single territory, and so every territory is now named after that team. When you go to select an action in the game, you'll see option such as:

"Defend Buffalo", "Attack Penn State", "Attack Kent State".

This means that we border the location that was originally assigned to Penn State and Kent State. If you choose to attack Penn State, you will attempt to take that piece of land next round. Defend Buffalo, means that we currently own Buffalo's original homeland, and defending Buffalo means putting your stars towards keeping Buffalo from being taken.

After you submit what you're doing for the day, just sit back at wait! At Midnight EST all of the picks from all of the teams go in, and a random number generator selects a winner for each territory. Then it all happens again tomorrow.

We had a good day! Yesterday we ended up winning 8 of 11 possible territories and have created ourselves a nice 3 territory buffer that we do not need to defend today. Meanwhile, OSU is down to their last territory in the northeast and have retreated all the way back to Pittsburgh. We are one more good day away from really clamping down on them.

For the past 11 days we have had a steady growth in active users. Last night OSU had a drop of 100 users that didn't participate. So we urge you all to continue to be active in this game. Your daily votes do help tremendously.

Yesterday was another frustrating day against the Buckeyes. We lost Umass, Syracuse, and Army despite being favored in all three locations. The last few days have consisted of swapping territories in the northeast with OSU. We need to continue to press forward until we recapture our new home and push the Buckeyes back.

We urge you all to continue to participate in the game. Your daily votes do help tremendously.

Please go to michigancfbrisk.com and click on "Get Order!" to get your instruction for the day!

Hey guys, just an announcement. Please don't attack Temple or any Clemson territories today. We have agreed to a non-agression pact with them today, so we can focus all of our efforts on OSU.

Below are a few messages about recent updates with the game and instructions to join and play if you are new.

The creators of the game recently increased the aggressiveness of their bot detection to prevent the use of bots/alternate accounts. If you have created a brand new reddit account to participate in this game, then we need you to check the game page to ensure you don't see the message in below. If you see this, you are being flagged as a bot and your moves are not counting. Please DM reddit.com/u/bakonydraco to get the situation sorted out.

So follow the instructions and contact the r/CFBRisk mods if that happens. Also, the CFBRisk mods have indicated that they may start marking accounts as bots if they aren't "users on R/CFB". So we ask that in order to keep yourself eligible that when you go to vote everyday: just take a look at the CFB subreddit and make a post or two. There should be always something on the front page Michigan-related that you can drop a quick take on.

Yesterday was yet again another step back for us. Ohio State took Maine and Connecticut from us while we got Army and UMASS back. Unfortunately, for some damn reason OSU keeps winning these coin flips from us. We just need to continue to plug along and eventually luck will bounce our way.

We want to thank you guys for your participation and encourage you to please continue to be active for only 30 seconds a day!

Here are the official suggested orders for today if you're a non-Discord user and are just following along from these posts:

Instead of using birthdays to give out orders, one of our members created a Michigan Risk website that can quickly direct orders to users

I haven't seen this hit the news or social media yet and I know a lot of Michigan fans like myself get much of their Ann Arbor news from this site, so I thought I would send the community an update in case anyone is looking for more information.

I work on Campus near the corner of State Street and North University.  Around 930 PM I heard a large boom from my office.  It didn't sound like a gunshot at first, but within about a minute 3 police cars pulled up having traveled fast and with full lights and sirens on display.  I could hear officers instructing someone across the street to get on the floor, and though my view was obscured, I do believe this might have been a "guns drawn" type circumstance.  Within another 60 seconds another 4 to 5 police cars arrived on the seen, later followed by two ambulances.   The entire section of North University between State Street and Fletcher was taped off for a period of time and only emergency vehicles were let through.

Whatever the incident was, it seemed like it was resolved very quickly because after about 20 minutes about half of the police presence left.  As I write this I know vehicles are still on the scene.

I'm not sharing this to rubberneck or swirl speculation, but again I get much of my Ann Arbor news from this site and thought I would share in case others are seeking information about what happened this evening.

Way OT: I am traveling to Munich for work in June. It will be my first time Munich and I will be there for a week.

I was hoping the board could steer me in the right direction on restaurants/pubs to check out or any other cool things to do/quick sites to see when not at the office?

Thanks in advance.

Ultimately I don't really care about their school enrollment but I did find this interesting and a bit perplexing. After such a highly publicized scandal and the despicable way it's been handled since this just comes as a big surprise to me. Apparently a public institution can be found guilty of deplorable acts and conduct, and still come out smelling like a rose. I guess my advice to MSU would be, keep doing what you're doing. Apparently it's working. Yikes. https://msutoday.msu.edu/news/2018/msu-to-welcome-largest-most-diverse-…

Thank you guys for your dedicated participation as of late. We have grown to the third largest team in the game behind only Florida and Nebraska!

With that said, yesterday was a small step back for us. Despite vastly outnumbering Ohio State in each of Syracuse, Buffalo, and Penn State they still managed to win based on sheer luck (stop me if you've heard that before) in each of those three territories. So tonight our gameplan remains largely unchanged. We need to continue to push OSU away from our stronghold in Maine.

Here are the official orders for today:

Birthday in January-March: DEFEND Umass

Birthday in April-June: ATTACK Syracuse

Birthday in July-September: DEFEND Army

OT: More MSU scandal - Strampel was reprimanded in 2005, and kept getting renewed

Submitted by 1VaBlue1 on May 11th, 2018 at 7:29 AM

Just when you thought it was done, they strike again!  The Freep (warning!) has a story about Strampel (Nassar's former boss) having been reprimanded for vulgar and inappropriate comments and otherwise poor conduct in 2005.  He was then renewed as Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He was also renewed several other times through the years, despite additional complaints from schools and administrators.  Kritsen Zayko, MSU's General Counsel (then a member of the GC office), documented the meeting with Strampel:

Instead of taking tough action against Strampel, now facing a hearing as MSU tries to strip him of tenure to fire him, the trio of administrators decided to simply place a letter in Strampel's personnel file, documenting the talk. They also got verbal promises from Strampel that he would change.

Clearly, he didn't change behavior...

Also, Zayko just resigned her post with this comment:

First and foremost, I am sorry that anyone has been assaulted, abused or harassed on this campus. When I was a student here, too many victims of assault and harassment were afraid to report or seek help. I am grateful to every survivor who has come forward to tell their story. You should continue to push and challenge this university until real culture change occurs.

The bolded sentence is the shocker.  So, as a student, she was aware that assault was a problem that kids were scared to report.  What did she do about that long standing problem when she had the perfect opportunity to help?  Nothing.

Burn MSU to the ground, please...
