OT: Talking Cars Tuesday - Cars you hate

Hey, it's actually tuesday!

Per a great suggestion from "A Different Jason" this week let's get the hate out there. What car (s) do you absolutely HATE? Maybe you bought the wrong vehicle, maybe that rental you had for a week was the worst thing ever, maybe that car just has a stupid look on its stupid car face.

Let's hear the hate. The less rational the better.

Slightly on-topic given our Brandon debacle...

Earlier this summer, reports suggested Patterson was facing backlash from some Texas boosters who felt he was alienating the school’s coaches and fans. A report from HornsDigest.com said some prominent boosters felt Patterson was prioritizing money over athletes and coaches, “misleading football season ticket holders” and “alienating longtime donors as well as faculty and staff.”

The Morning News report on Wednesday said Patterson had not yet “reached the point of no return” with university president Greg Fenves, who replaced Bill Powers in June. Fenves and Patterson are scheduled to talk again on Friday as part of regularly scheduled meetings; according to the report, Fenves has in previous meetings “told Patterson of the need to change an approach that some see as impersonal or even arrogant.”

I didn't want to clutter the board yesterday after the Used Car Advice thread was posted. We need room to discuss every tweet!

That said, keeping it simple this week while acknowledging the purists:

Can you drive a standard? What did you learn on? Do you own one now?

Three Michigan Lighthouses for Sale

Three Michigan Lighthouses for Sale

If you've ever wanted to own a lighthouse, now is the time.  Three Michigan lighthouses are currently for sale.  Get our your checkbooks and start bidding.  There are a few strings attached, though.  They must be bought by a nonprofit organization, you do not get ownership or rights to any land under the lighthouse, and you are required to maintain the lighthouse.

The current bids are $5,000 for two of the lighthouses and $10,000 for the other.  One is in lake Michigan: Ile aux Galets which is between the shore and Beaver Island.  The other two are in lake Huron: Gravelly Shoal which is 5 miles from Aux Gres Twp, and Spectacle Reef, which is 11 miles from Bois Blanc Island.

OT: What is your preferred option for t.v providers?

Good Afternoon MgoBoard,

I have recently moved into a new home and I'm trying to tackle what my best option is for my television provider. I figured coming to you guys would be a lot easier than seaching the internet for hours to get opinions.

So what do you recommend? Comcast, Dish Network, Direct T.V, some sort of streaming to watch t.v and sports? Please share with me what you have found to be most cost effective and reliable.

Some things I need to watch football in the Fall: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, NFL Network, Big Ten Network (I live in Michigan, so I'm in the BIG Network footprint), Fox Sports Network 1. These usually get me all the games I need to see and would like to be able to always watch them.

If anyone has any experience with some of the online streaming I would love to hear about that. I don't have any experience at all with a lot of the online stuff, except for netflix. I know there are options out there though.

I have always had Dish Network and pay over $100 for a 4 bedroom hook-up, I will probably go this route unless someone here can show me something better to go with.

So, please help me out fellow bloggers. All input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Go Blue!!

Sam Zell is donating $60 million to the Ross School of Business.  $10 million is to be used as seed money for Michigan entrepreneurs that have launched startups that have made it to the seeding stage of development.  A stated goal is that it will develop the local economy and bring jobs and prestige to the region.

Pretty cool stuff.
