People are running up to old main. Got a video. I'll put it up in a bit. What a view from penn tower. Still think this is crazy.

I don't understand why people are downtown. At least being at old main made some sense.

Edit: In fairness, this may have been a rush to judgment by those reporting and RTing their impressions of it being a 'riot.' It appears to be a rally by students against sexual abuse and in support of the team as part of a 'movement' being Tweeted about by the PSU student account Paternoville.

You've probably heard by now, but Mizzou is going to the SEC to balance the conference at 14.

One interesting thing: Missouri will play in the SEC East, which obviously makes almost no sense geographically (though it is relatively close to Kentucky and the Tennessee schools which are all in the East) and it's permanent rival will be Texas A&M. My solution would be to move the Alabama schools to the East, and move Vanderbilt west, along with the two new schools. You would lose Alabama-LSU (the Nick Saban bowl) as every year games, but you would gain Alabama-Florida every year. Permanent rivals would change as follows (the other three stay the same):

Vanderbilt-Tennessee

Ole Miss-Georgia

Missouri-Auburn

Texas A&M-Alabama

It will be interesting to see if the SEC goes to 9 conference games like the B1G, Pac-12 and Big XII. It's not much of a conference if you don't play 5 teams per year, and potentially go half a decade between seeing opponents.

So I came across this article in The Tennessean.  The article originally came from USA Today.

Here are the 13 highest paid Athletic Director's in collegiate athletics.  I'm not very surprised to see some private schools in there.  However, considering how bad Vandy has been at Football i'm surprised to see Vice Chancelor Williams as the highest paid-granted Vanderbilt has been very good in Men's/Women's Basketball and stellar in Baseball.  If I was Hoke I would wonder why an AD is making more money than me?

http://data.tennessean.com/ody/databases/university-athletic-director-s…

1)Vanderbilt (Dave Williams)  $2,560,505

2)Florida (Jeremy Foley)         $1,545,250

3)Louiseville (Tom Jurich)      $1,427,704

4)Texas (DeLoss Dodds)       $1,095,756

5)Ohio (Gene Smith)               $1,058,546

6)Wisconsin (Barry Alvarez)  $1,040,800

7)Oklahoma (Joe Castiglione) $975,000

8)Notre Dame (Jack Swarbrick) $932,232

9)Duke (Kevin White)      $908,659

10)Tennessee (Dave Hart Jr)   $750,000

11)LSU (Joe Alieva)                   $725,000

12)Navy (Chet Gladchuk)          $712,742

13)Michigan (Dave Brandon)  $700,454

Should the Big Ten Consider Removing Penn State From the Conference?

Should the Big Ten Consider Removing Penn State From the Conference?

Submitted by bryemye on November 6th, 2011 at 1:35 PM

Pretty simple question. This is the most heinous case I have seen come out of college sports that involved the entire chain of command up to the president of the university. The university's reaction to this has been whatever the word for appalling but a thousand times more is. A thousand times appaling. Writing this I'm getting nauseous.

Point being: this does not represent the values of the Big Ten or any conference but especially the Big Ten. I don't see a gray area here but I'm happy to have someone investigate to see if there is one. If things are as bad as they seem, then I don't want to be associated with that place in any way shape or form. I think there should at least be an investigation with the threat of removal present.

Thoughts?

The New York Times has an article on missing congressional votes.  At the bottom of the article, they say that Michigan as the most congressional delegates that have not missed a vote and follows that statement up with "Go Blue!"

I just greatly appreciated that they feel the state prefers us to East Lansing.

(Go Blue is in the fourth to last paragraph of the article)

You even want to take a picture with Charles Woodson, but never had the chance? Now you can.  At least at Mott's Children's Hospital.

With the help of “3D Woodson,” a new mobile app custom made for Mott, Woodson can be brought to life by any Mott visitor with an iPad or iPhone. The technology behind the app, called augmented reality, has never been used in a healthcare setting before.

Just point and SHAZAAM, he's there with you.  Woodson in your pocket (or tote bag).

You can get the App here-
