Martin sacks Chappell

Loved it when Martin sacked Chappell and made him bounce off the top of his head before landing on the turf. I've been looking for a pic or video of the sack and haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. has the best pic of it thus far (pics 52 and 53):

Anyone see a video clip of the sack, or a better pic?

Indiana dropped back to pass over 70 times.

  • 64 passes
  • 2 sacks
  • 1 int
  • Chappell is listed as running 7 times for -5 yards

I am going to go out on a limb and say were are not getting enough sacks.

I don't have the numbers, but it did look like Chappell got hit a ton.  I think our pressure and blitz packages were good at getting to the quarterback.

My question is this...if we are getting decent pressure or at least a bunch of quarterback hits (some of them after he released the ball and illegal) why aren't we getting more sacks?

I would say its b/c our secondary is playing too soft.  I got sick of watching the QB get hit as he threw the ball to a reciever with a DB playing a soft 5 yards behind.  If the secondary played a bit tighter we may give up a few more big plays, but I would think we would also get a bunch more sacks.  I say this b/c in the split second the QB has to decide if he wants to throw all he sees is his own player, if there were a DB in the area he may think twice pull the ball down and take the sack.  Thats just my opinion.

I know our Defensive philosophy is to make a QB beat us, but we shouldn't make it too easy for them.

Man, after watching this, I am so grateful that we have Rich Rod and the whole Les Myles fiasco turned out the way it did with our school. This man is the head coach of a top SEC school. Scary. I know he's all Blue, but that didn't compel him to come coach here. And after watching this, thank the good Lord he didn't:

Does anybody remember when Michigan was unquestionably good? When a fast start didn't lead to questions of when we would fail, but how long we would succeed? It was not that long ago. Why, in 2006, on a different forum I was a member of, started creating a record signature image at 3-0, fully expecting to see it reach at least 9-0 or 10-0 before I had to add a 1 to the other column. And guess what? It got to 11-0 before I had to do so!

It has only been three full seasons since then. And now, like then, we are undefeated, and my signature should read 5-0. But I won't do it. I'm afraid to jinx it. It's like uttering anything that even sounds like no-hitter before the 7th inning of a baseball game. You just don't do it. But in 2006, I wasn't afraid to do it.

So my question is, when can we all stop holding our collective breaths, and finally begin to believe that Michigan is no longer pretending, but is once again Michigan and can be reasonably assumed to have a good, if not great chance to win any game on the schedule?

The next three weeks will go a along way toward determining the future of the program.  Most everyone thought we'd get to this point of the season with M at 4-1 or 5-0.  Over the next three, if M goes 2-1 or 3-0 it will almost certainly be viewed as a successful season and the RR era will definitely be exanded.  It think going 0-3 would likely mean the end of the RR era as most likely the team would end up between 5-7 and 7-5 inclusive, but would have gone 1-7 to 3-5 in the Big Ten and ended the year with a 0-7 or 2-5 record over the last seven games.  That is simply not good enough.

If M goes 1-2 over the next three, that marks a middle ground and the future of the RR era will depend on the performance over the last four games.  Given how well the offense has performed, unless the wheels come off in the final four games I think this will be good enough to continue the RR era.

Lost my tickets Saturday, question for the forum

I had extreme jubilation when my good friend called me a few weeks back to let me know that I would be coming with him on Saturday.  They are his parent's seats and they are nice and close to the field.

Well, he called me tonight to let me know that his parents now want to go to the game(not that I blame them) and the two of us are the odd men out.  I'm looking into tickets right now, but if I don't go that route, I want to at least make sure I'm in AA during game time.

The thought of being there and not being inside is killing me right now, but I'm wondering if there's another place around the stadium that would be a good place to view it.  I know at Pioneer they have the big screen, are there a lot of people around there?  I've been to many games, I always make sure I'm inside.

Any guidance for a disappointed wolverine would help, thanks guys........

So I just realized that I will be in India during the Ohio State game this year. My sister is getting married there so I don't really have an option. Obviously, I tried to get her to rescind the invitations, break up with her fiance and/or have the wedding in Ann Arbor but nothing has worked so far.

I have also written multiple letters to Jim Delany asking him to move the game to an earlier point in the season because that seems like a reasonable solution and Jim Delany seems like a reasonable guy. (/too soon?)

This too seems unlikely.

Any Indian mgobloggers have solutions that ideally don't involve live streams?

1st half -

2nd half -

try and pick up something interesting, if you can. could be as trivial as how one of their lineman holds their hand for a certain play.
