Take a Break from Recruiting News

Take a Break from Recruiting News

I think we need to take a break from recruiting news.  I'm not giving up on A. Walls, D. Cooper, S. Watkins etc. because of a negative report,  verbal commitment or "trimmed list".

In RR's 3 years he has proven he can close strong and if he's retained and we have a good bowl performance the mojo can turn quickly.

So stop jumping off the ledge with every piece of news, these kids are being blasted with negative recruiting against Michigan and I think reacting accordingly.  This thing has a long way to go and no matter who the coach is we will flip some guys late.

OT: Will Muschamp's offense

OT: Will Muschamp's offense

Will Muschamp is considering running a pro-style offense down in Gainesville. Given the current athletes on the roster on the offensive side of the ball, do you guys potentially see some guys transfering and/or decommitting?

Also, Florida does not have a RB who can carry the load for that type of offense, nor do they have that prototypical possession type WR. I do feel the offense is better suited for John Brantley, but with no running back it might not be a good idea. I know Muschamp is a great recruiter so I am sure he will find the right guys, and in time, it will suit the Gators well.

This situation is very similar to that of the 08 Wolverines. A whole new offense, a new head coach, and a roster with guys recruited for a different style of offense. Do you forsee the Gator's struggling if they go to a pro-style or do you think they can adjust? This team has more talent than we did in 08, but imo, I see some struggles. Just interested to see how the Mgoblog community feels about this.

I have been waiting for a 2010 highlight video for Michigan or Denard to show up on youtube but i haven't seen anything worth watching. I saw one 9 minute highlight of Denard that was only the first 2 games. I was upset. Anyone that can make a video to give me somthing to do for 5-10 minutes would be greatly appreciated (Wolverinehistorian who doesn't make highlight vids very often even though he would be great at making them given the fact that he has all of the clips....feel free to contribute).

Oh, woe is Michigan.

“Much of being a legend is about fame,” said the recruit. “And while that’s great, fame doesn’t necessarily leave a positive impact on the world. Leaders do. So I wanted to play for a team that is associated with leaders. Let those other teams worry about being legends.”

Illinois head coach Ron Zook said he is excited to get his commitment.

“I was honestly worried when we were placed in the Leaders division that we would miss out on all the kids who want to be legends,” said Zook. “But this young man is showing that he has great character. You can’t have enough players like that.”

Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez says he pleaded with him to reconsider.

“Before the conference announced the division names, he was 100-percent committed to Michigan,” said Rodriguez. “If it wasn’t for the division names, that young man would be wearing maize and blue next year. I told him that they were just meaningless, soul-crushing, corporate-created placeholders, but he said he didn’t want to risk it.”

This sucks. Discuss amongst yourselves.

I think he got robbed. http://www.seattlepi.com/cfootball/2060ap_fbc_ap_all_america_list.html Listed as an all-purpose player, how does somebody who shattered records left and right in relatively limited action only qualify as a THIRD team All-American? Congrats Denard. But you deserve and earned better. Heisman 2011 and 2012.
