DOOM for Leaders & Legends?

DOOM for Leaders & Legends?

With "unprecedented" mentalities coming tomorrow for PSU, I can't see how Jim Delany has any other choice but to disband the 2-division set-up for football.  Once PSU is banned from the post-season, in 2012 the Leaders division will have have 1/3 of its teams ineligible for the Championship game (OSU & PSU).  With only 10 teams eligible and 3 of the best teams (UM, Nebraska & M$U) in the Legends division, it only makes sense to move (back) to a 10 team division where the top 2 eligible teams represent the conference in the championship.

Ted Sarniak, Terrelle Pryor's "mentor" and alleged Tressel bagman, passed away this weekend. Ohio State hiding behind FERPA laws and having it being upheld in Ohio Supreme Court never allowed the public to learn more about his relationship with Tressel.

In his obituary he refers to Terrelle Pryor as his "special son."

Last day of Elite 11 competition. Shane Morris still has not been able to break into the coaches' rankings despite glowing reviews from various recruiting analysts observing the on-field portion of the competition.

Final day of competition includes red zone and 2 minute drill work. Get it done Shane.

NCAA source: unprecedented penalties against Penn State Monday

Not sure what this means, but if they are announcing it without a letter of inquiry, it probably means Penn State administration and AD is in agreement. I am guessing a fine or profits donated to charity with no TV ban or death penalty.

NCAA source tells CBS News athletic assn. will announce "unprecedented" penalties against Penn State, football team http://cbsn.ws/QnwOzy

The final day of the Elite 11 is today, from 3-10 PM Eastern time. As always, post any updates you find along with normal discussion.

I'm also going to put some reviews in the OP that I haven't seen posted so far.

http://247sports.com/Article/Elite-11-Finals-Saturday-Superlatives-81679

Gunslinger

Davis Webb- Webb’s appearance off the field is deceiving, but once he’s in live action the Texas Tech commit shows a willingness and confidence to take chances and make high level plays.

Honorable Mention: Shane Morris, Riley Ferguson

Strongest Arm

Shane Morris- Morris’ arm strength was a well known commodity coming into this event, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that he has the best arm in attendance. At times the velocity on his ball rivals that of some of the college counselors.

Honorable Mention: Asiantii Woulard, Christian Hackenberg

Quickest

JT Barrett- Quickness in drops, decision-making, and getting rid of the ball is the primary difference between the high school participants and college counselors. Barrett has shown he’s among the fastest in those areas through three days of action.

Honorable Mention: Shane Morris

-------------------------------------------------

And then from this thread on 247, per JC Shurburtt;

"We think the top five "performers" at this particular event (based on what we've seen) are in no order...

Asiantii Woulard
Shane Morris
Joshua Dobbs
Kevin Olsen
Max Browne"

"Prospect-wise, we think...

1- Max Browne
2- Shane Morris
3- Christian Hackenberg
4- JT Barrett
5- Kevin Olsen"

Per Mike Farrell's twitter;

Mike Farrell @rivalsmike

Just got a text from his father that Greg Webb has de committed from #PennState and has committed to #unc

Webb is a 4 star DT, and the first player to decommit from PSU since the Freeh report. Be interesting to see if any more follow suit.
