LOL: Auburn retroactively claims 1913, 1983 & 1993(!!) NCs

This has been blowing up on Twitter.

Auburn previously claimed only two MNCs: 1957 and 2010.

Their website now says they claim the 1913, 1983 and 1993 MNCs.

1993. You know, the year they were banned from a bowl as well as a TELEVISION ban.

This would be like ohio claiming the 2012 MNC.

Why does Chad Henne struggle in the NFL?

Why does Chad Henne struggle in the NFL?

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before (and obviously please delete this thread if it has), but why does Chad Henne struggle so much in the NFL?

I just came across an article at Jaguars' blog Big Cat Country that ripped on him, talking about how easy it will be for Blake Bortles' to beat him out of the starting job:

The best case for Bortles' rookie season is for him to firmly establish himself as the starter over Henne in the preseason. It won't be hard to do.

I've been reading stuff like this for a long time now. People just rip him to shreds.

I mean, we know what he did here, but since he's been in the NFL everybody hates the guy's guts. Case in point, via Jaguars blog Big Cat Country:

Why do people act like Miami Dolphins Chad Henne never existed? He’s never been anything but below mediocre in the NFL. Even with talent.

I always thought Henne had the potential to be a franchise QB in the NFL. Can anyone who follows the NFL closely weigh in on this?

Rice has upped the ante in the world of recruiting (/s).  They are recruiting J.T. Granato and hope an appeal to his kitty will sway him their way.

“As you know we’re trying to convince J.T. Rice is the place for him. I know you’d like to keep him close so he can feed you and change the litter box. Please help us to get him to choose us. Paw me if you have any questions.”

Must have done the trick, as Granato committed to Rice this week.  MEOW!

Johnny Manziel texted Cleveland Coaching Staff: "Hurry up and Draft Me"

During his mini-draft slide, Johnny Football apparently got bored waiting around the Green Room, and was talking to the Cleveland QB Coach. According to Coach Loggains:

“We’re sitting there and they keep showing Johnny on TV and Johnny and I are texting and he shoots me a text and he says, ‘I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to be there. I want to wreck this league together.’ “When I got that text, I forwarded it to the owner and to the head coach [Mike Pettine]. I’m like ‘this guy wants to be here. He wants to be part of it.’ As soon as that happened, Mr. Haslam said, ‘pull the trigger. We’re trading up to go get this guy.”’

Is this the first time someone has been excited to go to Ohio?

Combo athlete Jake Pickard lines up as a tight end and a weakside defensive end for his high school team and does so well enough that colleges have offered him at both positions. Pickard has been in contact with Michigan for quite some time and the Wolverine coaching staff likes what he does on the offensive side of the ball.

Pickard's father is close personal friends with Brady Hoke and that relationship has kept Jake on the radar of the coaching staff for a while.

Yesterday, cornerbacks coach Roy Manning stopped in to see Jake at his high school and told him that the coaches are still monitoring what he's doing and they'd like to see him come to their camp this summer and perform in person. Pickard also said that the coaches are fond of his frame and the potential body type that he could achieve as a tight end.

Pickard told me that he'd like to attend the Michigan camp but he's not sure he'll be able to do that yet. If he does, look for him to be one of the players watched closely by the coaches to see if he's worthy of an offer.

14. The Westerlands/House Lannister= MICHIGAN

The Westerlands/House Lannister= MICHIGAN

They are the champions of the west. They are leaders and legends. They have too much money, with no idea on what to do with it. They have good people and bad people among them, but ultimately, both U of M and the Lannisters are in a lot of trouble. Lately, things have NOT been going too well for either of the two. Being embarrassed by practically every other faction (B1G team) and being upstaged by the Tyrells (MSU) seems to have taken its toll, and its apparent that the end of their once-great empires will soon be upon them. Granted, there are a few favorites in the bunch, but its safe to say that not everyone is sad to see these guys go.

This is actually a fair assessment of Michigan football at the moment.  Hopefully our "apparent end" is not happening any time soon.

AP Photo/Jonathan WiggsAaron Hernandez has been indicted on murder charges in a 2012 double slaying in Boston.

Boston police spokeswoman Neva Coakley confirmed the indictment Thursday. Hernandez is already being held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder in the unrelated death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd last year.

In the 2012 case, victims Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado were shot as they sat in a car in Boston's South End on July 16. Police have said they were shot by someone who drove up alongside in an SUV and opened fire. Boston police have written in an affidavit there is probable cause to believe Hernandez was driving a vehicle used in the shooting and "may have been the shooter.'
