For the high school coaches out there, do you use Hudl Sideline and/or Hudl Assist? We're considering getting one or both for next season, and I'm curious to know how well it works and whether it's worth the money. We already have a standard Hudl account and Play Tools.

“We will use every avenue available to hold those accountable who tamper with our student-athletes,” Bjork said.

“As far as the limitations initially placed on the permission to contact, the restrictions are common,” the athletic department statement to Yahoo Sports said. “Until we were notified (Tuesday) morning, none of the student-athletes had communicated they were unhappy with those restrictions. Frankly, if they had any objections and a legitimate reason to seek transfer to one of the limited schools, we would ordinarily work through those issues with the student-athlete and his family. The student-athletes’ best interest is always the priority. Coach (Matt) Luke and (athletic director) Ross Bjork discussed the matter this morning. To be consistent, they are removing any restrictions on their permission to contact for all those who have requested permission. Our compliance office has reached out to the student-athletes to let them know.”

Mo Hurst for PFF Heisman?

Mo Hurst for PFF Heisman?

In watching the PFF college twitter feed, it appears that Mo Hurst is the highest overall rated player for any team at any position, at least within Power 5 conferences. Does anyone know if they use the rating to give an overall best player award?

  1. Mo Hurst DT - 96.9
  2. Baker Mayfield QB (OU) - 96.2
  3. Joshua Jackson CB (Iowa) - 95.5
  4. Caleb Wilson TE (UCLA) - 93.9
  5. Frank Ragnow C (Ark) - 93.3

Other notables

  • Lamar Jackson QB (Loui) - 91.4
  • Bryce Love RB (Stan) - 90.6
  • Nick Bosa DE (OSU) - 90.7
  • Devin Bush LB (UM) - 88.4
  • Khaleke Hudson (UM) - 86.8

Average Recruiting Class of Playoff Teams

Average Recruiting Class of Playoff Teams

Submitted by MGoStrength on December 6th, 2017 at 10:54 AM

TVH posted this on Twitter earlier.  I have to assume he's using the ESPN rankings.  Here are the average rank of the recruiting classes for the last 4 years of each playoff team.

Okla - 14.75

Clemson - 8.5

Georgia - 6.75

Bama - 1.25

Average of all 4 Teams - 7.81

(UM - 17.5)

(OSU - 5)

The bad news is UM is still well behind the current playoff teams average.  The good news is that Harbaugh's only two full classes to date average #6.  2015 and 2014 really dragged down our average, which means the vast majority of our talent is in the freshman and sophomore classes.

Conclusions:  Going by recruiting alone, if UM continues to recruit at the pace Harbaugh has in his only two full recruiting classes, one could guess that's good enough to get into the playoffs.  The bad news is that might not be good enough to win the conference as OSU is still not only ahead of us, but also ahead of the average playoff team at #5.

Here's an article on the 1997 Heisman race.  As a UM alum living in Knoxville, I found it to be interesting.  For those not in this part of the country, it gives a taste of how pepole here still feel the sting.

I found most interesting Randy Moss' explanation for the sunglasses.

Harbaugh-Manning Family Cage Match

Harbaugh-Manning Family Cage Match

I was just listening to the Boomer Esiason radio show in the NY area, and they talked about who would win a family cage match between the Harbaughs and the Mannings. Boomer said that Bart Scott told him Jack would bite off Archie’s nose. All agreed that the Harbaughs would win hands down. Just thought the whole conversation was funny and wanted to share for those that didn’t/couldn’t hear it.

Some new info I haven’t seen posted yet...in addition to all the talk about Patterson, it was good to see two tackles (Little and 4* freshman Bryce Matthews) are also interested in possibly transferring... https://www.maizenbrew.com/2017/12/6/16741172/can-michigan-land-several…
