Despite the 75-62 loss to Wisconsin this afternoon, Michigan and Michigan State remain tied at 10-3 apiece atop of the Big Ten after Nebraska took down the No. 9 Spartans on the road 60-51.

For the 5th straight time, the Women of Basketball defeat Illinois, 70-63.

Cyesha Goree had an incredible 30 points and 19 rebounds. She is only the second Wolverine ever to score 30 points in a game, per @umichwbball.

This is a key stretch for Michigan as the regular season winds down if they want to impress the NCAA Tournament selection committee.

Right now in current bracketology, Michigan isn't even listed as a next four out team.

They will most likely have to win out in the regular season and make some noise in the B1G Tournament. Or they could just win the whole B1G Tournament.

The problem with winning out in the regular season is what waits for them in the finale--#11 penn state.

Remaining schedule-

  • 2/19 at Indiana | 7pm/MGoBlueTV
  • 2/22 vs Iowa | 1:30pm/BTN
  • 3/1 at Penn State | 3:30pm/BTN

I heard there was a game today, but I didn't hear about it until the first half was almost over. Apparently, the team must have had the same issue.

Anyway, this should probably start the Beat State Week.  Lose the game next week and we basically lose any chance of even sharing the B1G title.

Better make sure the team knows what time the game starts next Sunday. Go Blue, Beat State!

Stat Line:  24:29 Minutes 12/23 FG, 7/16 3 pt. FG, 1 REB, 2 AST, 36 points (Game High)

Both he and Dion Waiters went into a back and forth shooting frenzy with to go 8:32 in the second half.  In a 5 minute stretch, Hardaway scored 22 of Team Webber's 28 points and Waiters scored 23.  To anyone who stayed up to watch the end of the game it was special to watch.

NBADraft.net recently put together a write-up about Nik Stauskas's draft prospects:

http://nbadraft.net/players/nik-stauskas

The grade they gave isn't keyed to a projected pick slot, but having used that site in the past to follow the draft, it usually is equivalent to a second rounder. For what it's worth, their latest mock draft has him as the projected 33rd pick, but 49th best on their Big Board.

Although it is not the most positive/flattering line and many will disagree with it, they sure did troll the "not just a shooter" drinking game: "Although he's viewed as more than just a shooter, his lack of overall speed could relegate him into being a one dimensional (spot up threat) pro"

I would love to see Stauskas beat these expectations!

[EDITED to fix projected pick and big board position]
