Michigan State just lost to Texas Southern (whose coach is former Indiana coach Mike Davis) 71-64 in overtime. Texas Southern had only 1 win coming into today (0 road wins).
Hey on the bright side, I dont think we have to worry about anyone leaving for the NBA this year, so we'll have the whole team back next year. Also Harbaugh.
I know, I know. What does this have to do with JH? Well, Michigan basketball plays today so I hope you at least find it somewhat relevant. Todays matchup just became a lot more difficult.
Kennedy hasn't played this season after averaging 12.4 points and 7.1 rebounds last season for the Mustangs.
Interesting discussion during half time of the Duke v UConn basketball game. ESPN analysts Jason Williams (former DUke PG) and Seth Greenberg had a discussion about the Top 5 PG's in the country. Surprisingly Greenbery chose Monte Morris as his top PG in the country. Williams listed Morris as his #5 PG in th country.
Some of you will recall that Morris played HS ball in the state of Michigan and was offered by Beilein. At the time Beilein offered Walton and Morris and told both that there would only be 1 PG in the class. Morris dragged his feet and Walton committed fairly quickly. Presumably Morris held out for "bigger" offers that never materialized. he ended up at Iowas State but I doubt that was his first choice. There hae been rumblings that Morris actually wanted to play at Michigan and was bitter that Walton "took his spot."
Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog is reporting that Louisville has offered 5* PG Derryck Thornton, a Michigan basketball target for the c/o 2016, as a 2015 prospect. According to Zagoria, Thornton's father has said that it's unlikely he would re-classify, but the family is considering the possibility. If Thornton does indeed re-classify to 2015, it may help Michigan's chances. Michigan and Duke are the top two teams for Thornton right now, based on 247's Crystal Ball tool. Thornton may have some hesitation about committing to Duke before he knows whether or not stud freshman PG Tyus Jones will leave for the NBA. Same goes for Louisville and Terry Rozier. Although UofM has their own incumbent at the PG spot, Beilein has played two PGs for long stretches of time this year, an idea that may be attractive to Thornton.
well maybe for a few minutes anyway. Kings-Thunder 10:30 ESPN.
Not the best episode but still some good insight plus highlights the womens game against the Irish. Also covers the alumni dinner for football. Enjoy GO BLUE!!
