Some good basketball news today (Jaylen Brown)

Good news on the Jaylen Brown front. Definitely do not want to copy and paste straight from Scout, but to paraphrase a little bit, two separate sources (Sam Webb and Brian Snow) have heard that not only is Michigan in the running for Brown's services next year, but that we are in the top TWO. Both insiders are unsure who the other team in the top two would be. Kentucky, Kansas, and UCLA are possibilities.

For those who have a Scout membership, the information can be found here:

Trying not to get my hopes up too high here, but I think if we somehow scored Brown, and Caris came back, we would be a top five team next year.

WBB is playing Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg in the quarterfinals of the WNIT.  There is live audio on mgoblue.com.  The only video is on a subscription service through the Southern Miss website.

A win will launch us into the final four.  Go Blue!!

Alright, folks, we've got half of the Final Four - we'll know the other half today. On CBS, we have:

2:20 PM - Michigan State vs. Louisville (line is MSU -2.5, I think)

5:05 PM - Duke vs. Gonzaga (line is Duke -2.0, last I saw)

My picks in the ESPN Bracket were Louisville and Duke, but I have MSU and Gonzaga in my yearly "chaos bracket" too.

Two teams will make an exit tonight, but for now, you've got:

Wisconsin / Arizona - going right now on TBS. 10-2 Wisconsin with 16:09 to go in the 1st.

Later on:

Notre Dame / Kentucky - that could be intriguing

UK blog site  (http://www.aseaofblue.com/2015/3/28/8304713/kentucky-vs-notre-dame-a-st…) comparisons Notre Dame with last year's UM team:

The truth is that Notre Dame is a quality opponent, they went 3-1 against Duke and North Carolina this year.  They are great offensively, well coached, and may have the best player on the floor in Jerian Grant.  Notre Dame is basically 2014 Michigan wearing green and gold instead of maize and blue.

In essence, Kentucky has already played this game, it was in last year's elite 8 as well.  The difference is that the Wildcats are much better this year.

Quick interview from Brendan Quinn over on Mlive with Spike on the hip injury that was bothering him all season.  New info to me was that it is not just one hip, but both that could require surgery to reduce pain.  Touches mainly on the tough decision to potentially miss all of spring/summer, or continue to train through the pain and then most likely play your entire senior season in pain.

Michigan hit ONE three all game against a team that hit NINE threes in their WNIT Second Round game against Kansas State.

Michigan will now head to Hattiesburg to face Southern Mississippi in the WNIT Quarterfinals on Sunday, the 29th at 3pm. Don't count on having a video feed since USM is a rinky dink C-USA school. MGoBlue live audio will be available.

Michigan is now 19-14 on the season. One more win and they have their 3rd straight 20-win season.
