The Big Payoff

The Big Payoff

Submitted by Blue_42 on March 27th, 2018 at 11:29 AM

With our advancement to the Final Four, I think we are now tied with North Carolina for the most post season wins since 2013.  I believe this also makes our 2nd Final Four appearance in that span and hopefully the 2nd for making it to the championship game.

For the better part of the last 5 yrs we have been one the four or five best teams in the country in those regards.  My question is when do we start to see the big "payoff"?  Meaning, when do we begin to get a McDonald's All-America player or two.

I know they are usually one and done for the most part. But I'd love to see us get one of those guys every year.   Go Blue!

This an enjoyable read on coach Yaklich. It covers his improbable move to Michigan and Beilein’s ability to adapt. We have seen Beilein’s relationships, which are built on character and loyalty, pay dividends before with personel and player recommendations. Yaklich seems like a guy who has great leadership and coaching ability. He will have suitors after this Final Four. Here is to hoping we pay to keep him at Michigan and groom him for the future. https://sports.yahoo.com/assistant-coach-humble-roots-became-key-michig…

Saw this about the mangers raising money to go to San Antonio for a basketball manager tournament. Looked but didn't see it mentioned so thought I'd share thier fund raising efforts. Apologies for mobile posting and if its been mentioned somewhere I missed. https://www.gofundme.com/5bcqezk The night before NCAA basketball games, another game takes place. A game between the managers of the two teams. All year long, we compete against other school's managers. Some of these games with tip-off at midnight! This year was highlighted by a dominating victory at Michigan State, a crushing six overtime loss to Indiana at home, and overall a 7-2 record. Last year our manager team was able to raise enough money to fly out to Phoenix, Arizona to compete in the first ever manager games championship. While we fell short, it was an unforgettable experience. This year, thanks to our fans voting and support, we have made it back to the Elite Eight and have been invited to play in the games in San Antonio! To be able to attend this year would be incredibly special considering the team will also be there competing in the NCAA Final Four! We are looking to raise money for travel expenses and a hotel. Any donation helps and we thank you for your support. As always, GO BLUE!

If interested in FF tickets at face value you might surf over the the Loyola ticket site where they are available for all sessions in the lower bowl. They may not appreciate me posting this but I'm struggling to keep this info to myself! Now, you'll be in the Loyola section but thats better than paying 4x for tix! If this is not kosher then I'm a bad person and feel bad and mods should delete. But I'm keeping the tickets I may have purchased.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Interesting site that has compiled rankings about teams who most over/under performed against expectations (vis a vis spreads) this regular season (march madness results excluded). Loyola ranked #1, Neb ranked #2, UM ranked #3.
