with Caitlin Clark being one of the biggest stories in sports right now, not sure how he will be able to remain the head sports writer at indystar and not be allowed to cover the fever. good riddance
not a divorce attorney but have read up on this topic before for....no particular reason :-)
Your joint finances become legally separated starting the day there's an intent to dissolve the marriage - usually meaning one files for divorce. Generally all assets and liabilities prior to that date are considered to be joint. A judge could decide that his legal expenses related to the MSU case are his alone. but in general, all debts before the date one spouse files are shared.
So it's generally fine to pay legal expenses from a joint account, even a retirement account. Cashing one out to make it liquid isn't even sketchy if you need the cash.
And if he tried to move all that money to a personal account so he doesn't have to divide it in the divorce, the court will award half of it to her anyway, if he moved the money he'll have to pay her back. So if he was doing this to hide the money, it's just another ignorant decision that will get corrected. If he was just doing it to pay his legal bills, it's probably fine. Unless a judge decides that the legal bills are his sole responsibility.
I actually don't know how these work. does every player get one, or just the qb? can the player(s) talk back?
edit: google AI to the rescue. very interesting how the nfl does it, i wonder if ncaa will do the same.
NFL players can use audio equipment built into their helmets to communicate with coaches during games. Only one player on offense and one player on defense are allowed to have a speaker in their helmet, and the helmet can only have a speaker, not a microphone. The coach can select a play using a tablet, which sends the information to the quarterback. The quarterback then relays the play to his teammates in the huddle. Quarterbacks can hear, but not talk to, their coaches until there are fifteen seconds left on the play clock.
I have never liked Gregg Doyel, but I can also see how his comments were good-intentioned, meant as a friendly gesture and welcome to town.
I also see why people took it as cringe and creepy, and i'm glad he apologized. we live in a world where sending the wrong color heart emoji on slack can get you in trouble. older men have to be super careful with younger women.
I will never understand why IndyStar got rid of Kravitz and hired this moron. I know some Michigan fans don't like Kravitz either because he broke the Deflategate story on Brady. But I found him to be an excellent Indy sports beat reporter.
He's been awful from day 1, and he stirs up controversy with the Colts and Pacers and IU and Purdue for the stupidest reasons, he tries to create drama where there is none. He's the journalistic equivalent of a trigger happy message board poster. Fire everyone! burn it down! he's terrible.
FWIW just to be completely objective, he has issued apologies in multiple forms now.
it's ok to reserve legal and moral judgment pending facts, but it's pretty easy to conclude that he's seen his last day with the football program, judgment aside.
a lot of this article smacks of victimhood and not taking enough responsibility - i felt threatened, the sanderson leak was a hit job, i didn't have nil resources, the surgery was worse than people know about, i couldn't build a roster, people didn't get to know me, none of it is my fault....
but then he's sticking around ann arbor, supporting the women's team, supporting coach May, and says he's got no regrets and is forever grateful...
very emotional in both directions, both offputting and endearing at the same time.
I am curious how this happens: "but sometimes you have more than you need and it's time to move some livestock."
i mean I know how additional livestock happens. i'm curious how this becomes a surprising, urgent issue to the farmer on a random wednesday morning.
i am not nearly as optimistic on tuttle as some folks around here. i see him as a serviceable qb2 if the main guy gets hurt. i could be wrong but i doubt he's in contention for qb1
there has been so much of this "step down for health reasons" talk, and while it's a realistic, convenient option, i haven't seen the first hint that there's any substance to it from UM/Coach Howard. Just message board daydreaming from what I can tell.
Baseball pitching is one of the most impressive "regular" sports skills to me, being able to launch at full strength and get it in that tiny strike zone over and over is incredible
yeah i 100% support requiring personal finance classes for anyone and everyone. but i maintain that no universal class, even if you get an A, will stop you spending AP money. you gotta really go hard to spend that much. no dave ramsey 5% mutual fund is gonna save you from this idiocy. it's one hundred dollars, a million times.
in general, you're right, but no course on personal finance can save you from squandering $100 million. do you realize how much that is. it almost takes effort to spend that much. lotsa trips to disney
the mgobloggers can't write a preview or a recap. apathy abounds. i'd be frustrated about that if it weren't simply a reflection of the players. apathy begets apathy

seems like the better they play, the more likely it is that they can go elsewhere and get paid more.
just like professionals on the job market, you generally get a raise when you switch jobs
Lotta white guys ! Will we pull off the quaint and outdated but still hilarious Bill Simmons Whitewash this year?
this was all in the 600-page manifesto

plot twist, stalions has been working to hack the helmet radio signal for years, his 4d chess plan is coming together perfectly.

they're digging up his old creepy tweets now, and yuck

I am not convinced tom mars is a very good attorney.
presumably yes. but i can't help but notice in the hoops domain, we seem not to be able to fund enough NIL, no idea on football. but probably moot.
it's ok to reserve legal and moral judgment pending facts, but it's pretty easy to conclude that he's seen his last day with the football program, judgment aside.
welp happy trails denard.
as an aside, i am curious why the football staff all seem to be out partying at 3 am, wasn't scruggs caught at a similar time of night?
in complete honesty i wonder if there's something about the michigan weather...does the michigan winter make people drink
Maybe he wants to stay, maybe he's fine about his dad, maybe he likes coach may
Maybe Juwan told him to stay
Maybe word got around about the Sanderson dust-up and nobody's coming calling
fascinating persona, juwan.

all the best to juwan.
he's washed
Can you please move me to bcc?
I just realized after like 10 of these that CC means coaching candidate, not Cc: (carbon copy)

He's fired. This is a step in the HR process
He's 33
What if they gave him a 3 yr deal with yaklich as assistant and coach in waiting
Best of luck coach
I wouldn't mind if they fired him, but I'm not quite to the point where I think it's "mandatory."
I think a coach should be granted one complete dud season and given one chance to turn it around.
I'm also not going to fight for Howard's job. Its fine with me if you have a different perspective.
Let's see what happens
One interesting thing about this is that Ohio is ALL IN this year on a championship run. Interesting that he jumped to M now
1.) wut
Bacon is destroying his rep by posting these nonsensical cryptic takes
Juwan reports to warde. Warde doesn't have to fight about Howard's job, he just decides.
not like UM ever hires a high-performing, well-respected assistant to be the next head coach.

if howard indeed gets one more shot, this would be an obvious pickup
cool
Doing the smart thing and steering clear of this at all costs.
Shame
Would hate to see March madness get killed

nope. if nobody takes it at the curb, and they won't, you have to haul it back. if you let it rot in a unit, they take care of it for you
i mean, no offense to alex but i read a paragraph

17 minutes since your post without another post or reply. yeah it's midnight but there's not much interest here
yeah, none of this shit matters to me. but i am sad to see the players devolving to this place, what a mess.

it's telling that i don't even have to advance to the second page of comments after the first half.
early good lead, 16-8, squandered by halftime. now michigan pulls out their ipads and watches disney+ for the second half and we lose. excellent
I don't blame you but I wish you didn't do it like this
