Top OL target Avery Gach commits today
One of Michigan's top OL targets for the class of 2025, Avery Gach, will announce his college commitment at 2:15 p.m. central, 3:15 p.m. eastern today, Friday, May 3.
Michigan is one of Gach’s final four schools, along with Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan State. Other notable programs to have offered the top lineman include Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and Texas A&M.247Sports ranks the 6-foot-5 lineman as a four-star recruit and as the No. 196 player in the class of 2025, No. 13 at his position and No. 2 recruit from the state of Michigan.
Hope he commits to the good guys! Hail!
Gach me outside. How bout that?
not that, dat
8 crystal balls filed at 247, all predicting he comes to Ann Arbor, though none with more than 60% confidence. Includes one guy each covering OSU and MSU. So you gotta feel pretty good about this one.
So a lock for Kentucky. Got it.
Edit: posted this before reading through other comments. This is becoming a sad and frequent joke.
Yup. The goal is to be the runner-up on these. That way, he'll go to Kentucky, get screwed on an NIL deal, remember that he really WANTED to come to M, and we'll get him from the portal next year.
So, Kentucky it is.
All ballz to Michigan, so he's probably got abut a 50% chance of commiting to Kentucky.
Either way his ballz would be blue.
Big blue ballz...
Don’t it make my brown balls blue.
They definitely have been a rock in our shoe.
He's an in-state Michigan kid. Michigan - can't and won't - lose him to Kentucky. Kentucky gets a lot of Ohio kids that OSU isn't pursuing hard. They won't get any kids from Michigan
Except for Deone Walker?
Thinking about Walker being part of this run of DL at UM ... maybe Kentucky is to BiG quarterbacks as Sarah McLachlan is to the ASPCA?
I was going to say you're wrong, but I looked through UK's roster first. They have two kids from Detroit, and no others. So you may actually be onto something!

Yeah, that’ll never happen
Kentucky doesn't even bother to scout. They just offer anybody Michigan offers, and then promise to add a zero to the NIL amount, knowing they will never actually pay that amount.
So he's a Kentucky lock.
I've beat this drum before, but please watch Gach's Hudl highlights. He finishes blocks to a comical degree and I love it
That may be one of the most entertaining reels I've seen. Truly comical in the best way (assuming he commits to us).
Wow, you are not lying! I got a few LOLs out of that first minute alone
sherrone moore is coach. sherrone was rather good at 'offensive line' when he played
sherrone has coached two joe moore award winning lines
kid from michigan
he is going blue, and kentucky will not be able to buy him out of our clutches.
Cool story.
Top 100 recruits getting paid life changing $ these days. UM seemingly not in the game of rewarding potential, but focused on earned incentives/ production.
However you feel about the approach, calculus is very different than it used to be.
oh gosh, i had no idea about that. none. what a startling revelation. thank you.
EDIT: apparently I’m pretty good at calculus.
Hmmm… how many Michigan OL have developed and been drafted recently?
Back to Back Joe Moore awards - and in the running for a third?
What experience does Michigan’s staff have with an OL? Moore, Newsome, etc…
It does seem like the Maize & Blue would be a solid choice.
Damn, I am soooooo late on the Kentucky joke I wanted to make.
Gach to Michigan is a birthday present to Seth--a Jewish kid from his high school.
Feeling good about M here.
We got Gach. Looking forward to the 2026 Qb recruit named Brady Hart. If anyone was destined for Ann Arbor it's this guy.
Completely off topic, and yes...I know we have some decent QB's here. But why haven't we kicked the tires on someone like Arch Manning? There is no indication that he wants to leave TX but pitching the idea to a Michigan collective to get enough funds together to offer an amazing (backup QB) ....Not only that but could play his former team the 2nd game of the season. We might actually get a few WR's to commit here after that too. Just saying...it'd be interesting.
btw....avery gach is amazing and i hope we do get him. lol.
I’ll humor you for a second…
If we’re pitching the idea to gather up funds to poach a QB that isn’t even in the portal, why in gods green earth would you go for someone’s backup QB with 5 career pass attempts?
Why? Several sites have Texas as the top QB room in the country because both of their quarterbacks are elite. Id be happy giving an opportunity to a backup like him.
Because there are far more proven commodities out there that have actually done something to earn that money. Several sites saying they have the best QB room doesn’t make it true, nor does it make their backup QB worth a huge payday at a school like Michigan. If we’re not paying high schoolers, we’re gonna pay a guy with 5 passes to his name? Makes zero sense.
Since OSU unlocked their NIL potential and won the offseason, Gach is a Buckeye, right?
It's now official. It's not Kentucky but....
Four-Star Avery Gach from Birmingham Groves has picked the Wolverines! Go Blue!!
He smartly picked UM over OSU , MSU and Wisconsin. Seems like a great kid!
Welcome to AA big fella! 2 commits in 2 weeks? I'm getting spoiled! Lol
welcome young man!
