No thanks. If we want Jay to build his resume with an OC job, let Jim hire him as OC then.

Excited but also anxious about the future. Plenty of energy and enthusiasm with this hire but much uncertainty and risk.
What happens to Hart now that it appears his path to HC at Michigan will be much longer than it could have been? What about the other assistant coaches?
We know Sherrone can manage on gameday... but how about the rest of the year?
When was the last time Michigan put its football program in the hands of such an unproven (while promising) commodity? Maybe Bennie or Bump?
Kind of cool that we now have both black FB and MBB head coaches. Maybe the first "blue blood" program to do so? Yet... both are replacing respective legends and one is already at a tenuous point (hoping he can turn it around). Either way - the times are a-changin'.
Perhaps a weirder note... we just hired from the Charlie Strong & Dan Enos coaching trees.
This kid (relatively speaking) has gone from playing ball at a community college in Kansas to being head coach at the winningest program in college football, fresh off their most recent national championship, in under 20 years. Wild.

In large part because of all of the things that Jim Harbaugh is great at, perhaps the greatest is his ability to spot hidden potential.

Awesome news. Congrats, Sherrone. This is well-deserved. Go Blue!

Get him signed, have the press conference, and then get that man on the recruiting trail.
Definitely a hire that carries some risk as he’s technically never been a head coach before, but he’s young, energetic, can recruit, and comes with a ton of upside if he works out.
Honestly, he carries no more of a risk than anyone else Michigan could’ve hired at this stage. If we went external, there’s going to be an exodus of players and the rebuilding process starts all over. That’s fine if you’re coming off a run of multiple 7-5 to 8-4 seasons, but you’re fresh off the greatest three year run in the program. You want to give all that momentum up?
The only guy that I would’ve said Michigan should give a call to over Moore is currently in Tuscaloosa. So Moore is the right move, and frankly the only move at this juncture.

Congratulations, Coach Moore!
Exactly as it should be.

Great hire … will need to learn the weekly running of a program considering he was the game day coach only … HA !! ONLY I SAY lol , what a great one he was … pretty certain though he was always right there with coach Harbaugh learning and listening, especially during those three weeks … biggest thing for me is that he is beloved by his players and the fellow assistants!!!

For this program and this team, this is exactly the right thing to do. Have to try and do everything you can to keep the culture. There are no sure things out there. Give Coach Moore a chance, and if it doesn't work out, then you do a full blown search

He has the best job reference. I’m good if JH is good with him.

Knocked the trial run out of the park - happy for Coach Moore, he is a passionate guy, I know that he'll work hard and hope that the good times keep on rolling!
