Moore officially hired as HC
January 26th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
Let's fucking go!
January 26th, 2024 at 7:23 PM ^
Now how about the assistants?
January 26th, 2024 at 7:36 PM ^
let him cook
January 26th, 2024 at 7:41 PM ^
Maybe Harbaugh will do us a solid and let us keep Minter. Obviously Minter has a say in that, but he definitely seemed to want to come back. Saying “Let’s run it back again next year” after the championship game.
January 26th, 2024 at 11:53 PM ^
Moore/Minter + Michigan West might be net positive overall
January 27th, 2024 at 7:24 AM ^
A lot of people say a lot of things, in the moment.
January 26th, 2024 at 7:44 PM ^
5.5 mil per year 5 year deal there’s plenty of money for assistants minter should be making around 2.5

Clinkscale time . He was CO D coord for a reason and knows the system ! His time to shine
January 26th, 2024 at 9:52 PM ^
That's why you have co-DCs.
January 26th, 2024 at 10:10 PM ^
And if he’s not available then get Daniel Stern.
January 26th, 2024 at 10:23 PM ^
Marv?
Harry?
Why the hell you take your shoes off?
Why the hell you dressed like a chicken?
[the actor who played Marv is named Daniel Stern]
January 27th, 2024 at 1:48 AM ^
Not that Daniel Stern, this Daniel Stern:

“Stern works closely with the inside linebackers, as well as assists with the playbook, call-sheet, opponent analysis and self-scouting.”
Sounds like he could fill Stalion’s role, but does he have a manifesto?

I don’t get the interest in Orr. He’s only been a coach *in any capacity* for 3 years and none of them were in college. I, too, want Michigan to continue the Ravens-style defense that has been so successful for them, but the answer isn’t to give the keys to the defense to a guy with so little experience.
January 26th, 2024 at 11:40 PM ^
I believe the Raven's hot dog man is available.

So, coming off of a N.C. and losing "the Guy" sucks. It implies things won't be the same. The best thing for the program is to put out the energy that things will be the same, particularly with the culture and winning tradition. It's very hard to convince people of that unless much of the same staff stays intact. Fortuitous circumstances put a young coach in a position to show the world he was up to the task, at one of the blue-bloods of college football. Virtually unheard of. The fact that he's always done recruiting the O Line before other position groups get started speaks volumes. He's passed the test with all A's and hiring Moore was the best thing we could do to send the message that things wont change much.
My hope is Jim doesn't take much of the staff with him. I think that Hart should be promoted to OC. He's been coaching for longer than most of the assistants on staff. I think Mintor was great on defense and Clink just resonates with these kids and they love playing for him. Either one would make a great DC and both have earned it. I hope we can keep them both, but I want the guy who's been calling the plays, that win games. Lastly, the strength and conditioning coach Herbert seems to have been a game changer. I wouldn't want to lose him either. Go Blue!!!!

As has been said in multiple threads, I doubt we lose Herbert, as going to the NFL as S&C coach is considered a step down since most pro athletes have their own personal trainers.

Is there going to be a press conference today?
January 26th, 2024 at 7:28 PM ^
I dislike it for one reason only, Michigan football has a head coach that is younger than me.
January 26th, 2024 at 7:31 PM ^
I'm feeling much too old to be this damn young
January 26th, 2024 at 9:13 PM ^
Rob Thomas, is that you?
January 26th, 2024 at 7:48 PM ^
Yup, first time for me.
(Doesn't seem like that's going to happen with the presidency for a while)
January 26th, 2024 at 7:53 PM ^
Me, too. But I couldn’t be MOORE proud of the young man. LET’S GOOOOO!!!!!
January 26th, 2024 at 8:05 PM ^
Damn you! I hadn’t thought of that!
January 26th, 2024 at 8:18 PM ^
I’m in the same boat but by two days…ugh I feel old being older than our coach now.
January 26th, 2024 at 8:37 PM ^
My best friend from high school has a son who is 33….
January 26th, 2024 at 9:51 PM ^
I have a son who is 40. What the fuck happened?? He just learned to ride a bike (check memory) last month…
January 26th, 2024 at 10:35 PM ^
I can make you feel young. My Daughter is 54. My son is 52. My oldest Grandchild is 27 and we have a 3 year GreatGrandChild from her. She's currently cooking up GreatGrandChild number 2.
January 26th, 2024 at 11:04 PM ^
Thanks. I do feel younger! I’m gonna cancel the Viagra prescription.
January 27th, 2024 at 9:19 AM ^
Spinach. Lots of spinach.
January 26th, 2024 at 11:16 PM ^
Just kidding. Enjoy the family!
January 27th, 2024 at 12:57 PM ^
No problem. I am fucking old.
January 27th, 2024 at 8:34 PM ^
Aren't we all.
January 26th, 2024 at 8:52 PM ^
Pffft. There's a reason I perk up for prescription drug commercials. You get used to knowing that the coach would call you "sir".
January 26th, 2024 at 9:10 PM ^
Well, the die-a-beet-us ads at least.
January 26th, 2024 at 8:53 PM ^
Michigan’s coach is two years older than my eldest son. I’m old.
January 26th, 2024 at 10:19 PM ^
don't worry, if Harbaugh is any indication, this job will age him faster than you, potentially catching up to your old age
January 27th, 2024 at 6:25 AM ^
Welcome to my world. We serve dinner here at 5pm. And tonight's dessert is stewed prunes.
January 26th, 2024 at 7:03 PM ^
Excellent. Moore winning.
January 26th, 2024 at 7:28 PM ^
And on this blog, more whining.
January 26th, 2024 at 7:33 PM ^
The general post-championship discourse across all sites has finally made me accept that this is a fundamental aspect of the Michigan fan base regardless of on-field success. We are a unique bunch, love it or hate it. Even if it’s annoying at times, I wouldn’t trade this community for any other. That might be the Friday night alcohol speaking though :)
January 26th, 2024 at 7:49 PM ^
Michigan fans are happiest when they are unhappy.
January 27th, 2024 at 8:43 AM ^
Which is all of the time. What a happy-unhappy oxymoronic bunch!
