If safeties actually have to account for a vertical passing game, I think 9-10 wins becomes the expectation rather than about 8. We're going to be able to run the ball better this season, but you're looking at another order of magnitude improvement if the safeties have to hang back.
The other piece you're not accounting for is if Jake Ruddock really does bring quarterback play up to a "B" level or not. If he's not ready to play in this system, there's a 6 win season coming.
Personally, I think we're getting an Arkansas season from last year. By the end of the year, we should be scary. The start might be miserable, though.

Intuitively, I'd say college teams are more predictable, because they're typically good at less than NFL teams. Most college teams can't pass and run well--they're lucky if they can do one of the two.
However, some offensive coordinators in college are doing some really cool stuff with run-pass options. I think the real trick would be to figure out somehow which player the quarterback for those teams is going to read on a given play. That would be a coup.

I always liked watching Orlando Pace. He was just fantastic.
Andy Katzenmoyer was a super awesome player that was a lot of fun to watch play. His off the field personality doesn't really change that.

No, just awesome tasting. Went during my honeymoon. We'll probably never go back, but it was a cool experience. They're actually the most approachable haute restaurant I've heard about.

So we're assuming they're as good today as they were then?
I would have happily taken Drew Henson for $1 and added Bo. Most teams were so bad when Yost was coaching that it wasn't really a fair fight.
The alternative is Brady, Wheatley, Edwards, Woodson, and Harbaugh.
Really poor job allocating dollars, Freep.

Hard to argue with excellence unless you make a grammar mistake in the press release...
During the 2014-15 academic year, Michigan was the only school to achieve exemplary Academic Progress Rate (APR) marks from the NCAA in football (above 990), men's basketball (995 and above) and women's basketball (995 and above). Additionally, all 14 U-M men's varsity athletic teams recorded perfect scores while 10 of the 15 women's varsity teams also earned perfect scores.

Well, not quite like Stanford. That was more akin to Purdue beating this year's OSU team by 3 touchdowns. Stanford was damn awful.
My guess is we struggle early, but finish a lot like Arkansas did last year--a seriously terrifying team that's more or less figured it out. 8-4 sounds about right, it's a question of how we get there.

The deviations are the only way to keep the show going without spoiling the eventual books. Remember that.

We're going to need to find a quarterback to hit 10 wins. We could easily be 2-2 coming into Big 10 play.
8 wins is pretty realistic is Rudock learns the offense. 10 would probably require the light to come on for Morris sometime this offseason. We've got a nice defense and should be fine in the running game. That's not going to beat MSU or OSU though. Add in some early season struggles and 10 gets hard to reach very quickly.

Cardale Jones may have a fall from grace this year. He's not very accurate and not very fast. Sure, he's a tank, but so are all the NFL defenders.
If Braxton Miller and JT Barrett are healthy, Jones is probably the third best quarterback on that roster.

Without due process for the accused, universities are essentially presuming guilt. Having a standard based on preponderance of evidence doesn't matter in a kangaroo court.

Schools don't need to act as a judicial system. They could maybe try to reduce some of the contributing factors, like alcohol abuse.
There's definitely responsibility for the university, just not afterwards. They need to focus on prevention, counseling, and encouraging reporting. Lawyers and police should focus on investigation.

It's not that simple. The guy here had a high-end job offer that he won't get now. He probably can't get a degree anywhere without openly discussing why he was expelled, which means he won't be admitted anywhere.
Basically, it's ruining this kid's life without any type of due process and what is essentially a presumption of guilt.. That's not okay.

There aren't 10 linemen or 6 receivers on this team who are ready to play. The top 5 linemen are going to be fine.
If anything, Morris looked better than I thought he would.

Biggest takeaway is Michigan doesn't have 10 linemen or 6 receivers who are ready to play. Depth is still pretty thin over there. If the line stays healthy and Ruddock or Morris can play, we'll be good. Otherwise, it's going to be a lot of hoping for the ball to bounce our way in low-scoring games.
