good on all the folks who get it. i am not a huge nba fan but the pistons are stuck in limbo. have to either get bad for top picks or go for it.
those picks aren't worth anything in the second half of the 1st is where people are missing it
does the M also get a royalty on every sale an athlete may not? if not it still seems low compared to the deals these individual athletes are getting.
Michigan has to sell a ton of gear. I get LeBron and the major guys but 8 million doesn't strike me as that much.
I was in Germany 2 years ago and it was on espn america. nobody minded putting a tv on it and there were actually quite a few that liked it we chatted with. the way I wouldn't mind a tv on soccer if there is nothing big on.
If I recall this board has been over this a number of times that this is not a UM owned plane (I don't believe schools typically own learjets).
I cannot recall who the owner is but it is some alum... I doubt with the secrecy of the search they would be cruising around screaming HERE WE ARE.
Update:"The jet is personally owned by Richard H. Rogel, a wealthy “independent investor” and high-ranking official at the University of Michigan who in 2004 personally donated $22 millon to the school. Rogel is also the former president of the University of Michigan’s Alumni Association and served as Chair of a University of Michigan fundraising initiative that raised over $3 billion."
If Hart cannot stay healthy in the NFL I hope he comes back to UM in some capacity:
"Mike Hart isn't in Ann Arbor anymore, keeping busy as an Indianapolis Colts running back, but he has followed the once-proud program closely since his senior year coincided with Carr's last season.
"Rich Rod didn't have a chance because no one agreed with the hire from the top to the bottom of the school and all over town," Hart said. "I'm going to be 100 percent behind whoever the coach at Michigan is and I hope everybody that loves Michigan is the same way, too, even if they don't like who Dave Brandon hires."
old tacopants has gotten some action here in the second half. @ +7.5 wish I hadn't been napping and got something in.
RM has seemed to get some hype this season but the games I've seen have been lackluster with flashes of competence.
I know you are all rolling downhill here but aren't you being a bit naive? Should we have packed the palace when the stones were winning 30 games?
It doesn't make sense - so sure it is annoying for a USC or Florida when a bunch of tools are rooting for them for no reason in East Lansing. But lets not get confused that if the Lions were to get good then fans are "bandwagon" if they come back. Its just hard to root for a brutal franchise...
They are Government sponsored enterprises (GSE's), and are not backed by the full faith and credit of the US treasury as T-Bills are.
However, it is widely assumed that the govt. would bail them out if it came to that, providing an implicit guarantee.
The stock prices plummeted recently because if the govt. does assume their loans, the equity becomes worthless.
I still think that mortgage backed securities are excessively written down, and will be eventually written back up. It is also my belief that access to govt. capital is much more likely then a full-scale bailout - but my opinions aren't as important as getting the story right.
