What I mean is they got a What I mean is they got a player with an extraordinary amount of talent dropped in their lap in Pryor and he has difficulty doing the simplest of things now. Whether he fits the offense or not has no effect on whether or not he can get a 10 yard pass on the money. What I'm saying is his passing ability has probably regressed since high school.
They're gonna get Lamarcus They're gonna get Lamarcus Joyner (unanimous five star) and more than likely Latwan Anderson too (rivals.com five star). Sharrif Floyd's also giving them a good hard look. They can recruit however well they want, they still can't develop talent for shit (see TP)
Also, Josh Helmholdt on Also, Josh Helmholdt on Rivals.com discussed how there is a possibility of making recruits count towards the previous year; like Adrian Witty, or because he committed so early; guys like MRob or Jerald Robinson. Now last year we had 22 commits, so say we make MRob and Jerald Robinson count towards last year, that would leave six spots open for THIS class. I gotta say that thought's pretty exciting. My guess for the final six: Clarence Murphy Tony Grimes Josh Furman Big Tex Rashad Knight Sean Parker/Dillon Baxter/Richard Ash?
Right now Oklahoma has 25 Right now Oklahoma has 25 commitments, but they're really heavily recruiting quite a few guys, like Tony Jefferson, Darius White, or Kenny Stills. So how does that work? Are they just going to say no if they commit?
Oh lookie there turns out Oh lookie there turns out both Stafford and CJ ARE in the starting lineup. Well that gives us some hope maybe?
The linebackers comment was The linebackers comment was directed towards Bell. Toussaint, if healthy, would not have passed Smith.
CJ's questionable with a knee CJ's questionable with a knee problem. Rotoworld.com reports that the Packers will have Charles Woodson locking down CJ all day if he does in fact play. Talk about conflict of interest. Stafford's doubtful. Looks like another Thanksgiving with Daunte!
Ok I have a question. I keep Ok I have a question. I keep hearing about sanctions by the NCAA that prevent more than 25 people signing to a class. Is that a Big Ten thing or an NCAA thing, because if it's NCAA than Oklahoma couldn't take anymore anyway..?
This is true; the only teams This is true; the only teams left, I believe, are Oregon, Stanford, and Oregon State, all Oregon has to do to get the title is win out (then Ohio State might finally win a bowl game)
If that loss had come earlier If that loss had come earlier in the season, I'd say they probably leap frog the horned frogs (ha!), however with this few games left in the year, I dont think even the BCS is dumb enough to place a one loss Bama/Texas/UF ahead of TCU.
I think it's really scary I think it's really scary that a walk-on has gained so much popularity as one of the top playmakers on our team.
So with that in mind, is Bell So with that in mind, is Bell perhaps looking at some playing time at the SAM linebacker position?
I like the idea of getting I like the idea of getting Ezeh closer to the D-Line, but I figure there has to be someone more capable of being in the talks for DE than a freshman; maybe LaLota or Hawthorne perhaps? Or is the general consensus that he's staying at Outside Backer
Also, there's still the Also, there's still the (unlikely) possibility of a freshman like Talbott or Big Tex (if we can swing him) stepping up into the backup position.
So are we recruiting Furman So are we recruiting Furman as SAM backer or safety? And I gotta agree with your competition point. RichRod has said to several recruits "My goal is to get several guys competing for the starting spot at every position." Well he's got his wish now, almost every position has a starter and someone who's going to push them, and take over if they falter.
It was in a blog, goes to It was in a blog, goes to show you MGoBlog is one of the only reliable ones. Point is he could definitely get to third on the depth chart next year.
Haha I think we all wish we Haha I think we all wish we could find someone that would make the Donavan Warren-like freshman impact. Point is, Christian just lacks the speed to make any kinda real impact for a couple of years.
I don't mean to shoot down I don't mean to shoot down your idea, but we have tons of depth at QB, which will be even deeper next year. Right now, we're five deep at QB. Next year we could potentially be as much as 6 deep (if Rich Rod keeps Kennedy on scholarship) at QB. He'd serve us much better at LB/DE
I also saw a post earlier I also saw a post earlier this year that suggested Toussaint was now a linebacker? No depth charts I can find are deep enough to support this. If he stayed at RB, he could very well be in competition for the third back spot next year (which as we saw this year, could get him some serious snaps).
This is ridiculous, in order This is ridiculous, in order to win a Heisman, you have to be a COMPLETE player (cough cough, as in not normally running for as many yards as you're throwing, and you know the ability to throw the ball more than five yards helps too), and you have to be consistently winning (see Mark Ingram, and as much as I hate to say it, Tim Tebow)
You're kidding right? With You're kidding right? With the likes of Woolfolk, Williams, Kovacs, Emilien, Christian, and MRob, there is NO way a two star safety with offers from (aside from Michigan) Louisiana Tech, SMU, etc is going to win a starting spot. Sure sometimes stars arent spot on as far as talent level, but there is a reason he wasn't noticed this year or offered by anyone else.
One might note that Craig Roh One might note that Craig Roh isn't a DB, and I dont think anyone here's dumb enough to suggest that. He means deathbacker.
From what I heard, Toussaint From what I heard, Toussaint got buried on the depth chart when Vincent Smith blew up in preseason. While many people aren't happy (myself included) with the linebacker play this year, we have ALOT of young linebackers. My guess is he just lost any opportunity for forward advancement when he broke his collar bone.
Birthday-Christmas-Hanukkah.. Birthday-Christmas-Hanukkah... it'd be a great present period
And where was that reported? And where was that reported? ESPN. Point is you don't know which ESPN to trust, since their reports are contradicting each other. I think we can all agree Jefferson would be most welcome at Michigan.
Quite simply, if he stays at Quite simply, if he stays at cornerback, he doesn't have a chance at beating out Donavan Warren or JT Turner. If he moves to safety, than he would AT LEAST need a year to adjust to the change, since he never played it before.
I think he already said he's I think he already said he's not going to enroll early
Some fun news while you guys Some fun news while you guys wait; Winston and Jeanette were kicked off the MSU football team. HA! Take that sparty. Karma for taking Gholston

Please Cullen a safety, Please Cullen a safety, Turner a corner. Turner may not have great speed but he still shut down the nations top Wide Receivers at the Army All American Bowl
Couldn't this be just as good Couldn't this be just as good of news for Florida, or say Texas, the school he actually went to?
Does anyone know if there Does anyone know if there will be a live feed available? I mean this isnt some spur of the moment thing hes had this planned for months
D-Line Is the d-line going to be shifted all around? Earlier this week I saw; DE: Van Bergen moves, takes Brandon Graham's spot. DT: Martin moves outside, takes Van Bergen's spot. NT: Campbell moves from second string to first, takes Martin's spot. I also thought it would be an option to bulk Roh up and move him to Grahams spot- I mean Graham was a pretty heavily recruited stand up OLB too before he moved down.
Furman Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but Ricardo Miller's most recent post was "44 days till i enroll at michigan class 2010" and josh furman liked it. I checked, its the josh furman safety. Maybe he's just supporting a fellow football player, maybe not.
Tony Jefferson New Scout.com story has Jefferson saying RichRods recruiting him as the SAM linebacker. He also enthusiastically explained how exciting the atmosphere was and how good of a time he had. Committing crossed his mind before the visit was over. He's going to visit USC for the USC-UCLA game (which prompted scout.com to list his interest in USC as medium and Michigan as low) and then make his decision in December. This is exciting!
I Understand I understand your thought process, but dude a couple of different breaks this year and we go 7-5 OR BETTER. I don't think that there's any doubt that we're better next year, especially in the secondary. I don't really understand your worries about the O-Line. Molk will be back at center, and he has TWO years of eligibility left! Moosman and Ortmann will be missed, sure, but Dorrestein and Huyge can hold their own, and if they can't we'll see Taylor Lewan or Michael Schofield seizing the opportunity. Schilling will be back, and Omameh really came on at the end of the season. As far as linebackers go, well yeah Stevie Brown's gonna be difficult to replace, but I think Marvin Robinson could win that job and do just fine; evidently his real strength is pass coverage, which would be his main job, just on tailbacks, slot receivers, and tight ends. No doubt Brandon Grahams gonna be really hard to replace too, but RVB and Mike Martin have no doubt showed alot of promise this year. And with Tate, he had a bad game against Ohio State, no doubt. But other than that he had an exceptional year for a freshman! I hope Gardner redshirts than is a two year starter junior-senior year like RichRod wants. It's bold, but with our schedule I say closer to 9-3
God is Real http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/donovan-warren-confirms-hell-be-back-next-s…
THANK JESUS! THANK GOD! Warren's all in, we have to build on this. Time to start the momentum train.
Baxter and Stills are Kidders I gotta think that Baxter and Stills just visited because they wanted a free weekend with the guys, but that would mean that SOMEONE inside their group (Jefferson, Stills, Baxter) were interested enough in Michigan to suggest the trip here. My guess (and hope) is Jefferson.
He can't, he just can't! Alot of the aforementioned DB's aren't seniors this year (see Eric Berry, Dowling, Joe Haden) so I guess it really depends on how they choose. Face it guys, he had a GREAT season, just not statistically, and that's mainly because the offense kept picking on either Woolfolk, Floyd, Cissoko, or the safeties. They just didn't look his way that much this year, because he is a GREAT SHUTDOWN CORNER. It's a little early to pull the "Turner is GOD" card, but I have to think that he's an upgrade on whoever they threw in at the opposite corner position this year. If he sticks around another year, I have no doubt that scouts see him playing an integral part on a shutdown D next year (come on guys, with a secondary like Warren, Turner, Woolfolk, and Williams/Kovacs/Emilien how could we be as bad?!) and he gets propelled into 1st round status. What I'm trying to get at here is PLEASE STAY DONOVAN! PLEASSEEE!
I gotta agree here Stills is I gotta agree here Stills is incredibly complete and runs a 4.36 40 according to Scout if not than DJ Williamson. Ricardo Millers well hes more of a complete guy than speed
2010 Depth Chart? Maybe this is too early. And maybe this is too optimistic... but if we don't have hope what DO we have? FS: Troy Woolfolk SS: Vlad Emilien/Jordan Kovacs/Mike Williams (Preferably one stands out in offseason, and preferably that one isn't a walk on ) CB1: Donavan Warren CB2: Justin Turner SLB: I really hope Marvin Robinson wins this battle WLB: Jonas Mouton (He has a lot of talent, just too many mental mistakes. With a little dedication in the offseasn, they can be fixed!) MLB: Please GERG. I BEG you. Put in JB Fitzgerald. Or at least let him split snaps evenly. Obi Ezeh, despite his experience, just cant play pass coverage OLB: Craig Roh NT: Mike Martin DE: This one's tricky. I've heard alot of talk of Van Bergen moving to DE and Campbell starting at DT, but ultimately I think Will Heininger gets a shot at the job too. DT: Campbell/Van Bergen LT: Dorrestein/Huyge LG: Schilling C: Molk RG: Omameh RT: Dorrestein/Huyge TE: Koger WR: Stonum WR: Hemingway Slot: Roundtree! QB: Forcier/Robinson RB: Smith/Shaw The obvious excitement of this is only one freshman/RS freshman starting on EITHER side of the ball. Any thoughts?
