What the hell, Countess wasn't kicked out of Michigan, he's a good kid, I thought getting the boot was a prereq to transferring to Auburn?

Bradley must be a really great player if he made the tourney as one guy and a 2 seed no less.
|4 days 17 hours ago||Do we even have one guy that||
Do we even have one guy that we'd think is as good as Smith? The guys who are still here are either unproven or had problems getting separation on their routes in their game action. The tight ends will be a help, but there's definite concern on having guys open to throw to.

I suspect that if Nairn doesn't take a big step forward, MSU's lineups by season's end will actually feature Valentine as a Pippen-style point forward and just play two shooters in the backcourt rather than have a true point guard. Valentine was already 2nd on the team in assists last year (not far behind Trice) and did play that point-forward role at times.

The only negative reviews I've seen were one guy from the SF Examiner, some English guy, and of course, Armond White. Every single other review, from wide varieties of reviewers, is some variation on "holy shit" and "there's even a real story/theme here not just insane action"

Davis was arrested for weed and Perea was in the room with him where they were smoking. Perea had a previous DUI. This isn't "Creaning" really. In particular they kinda needed Perea, their only big man is the incoming (albeit highly regarded) freshman now.

The chorizo frita with everything on it is the winner.
Back when I was in school, I think the shish tawook (basically seasoned grilled chicken kebabs) with extra garlic sauce (toum) at Kebab Palace was my most consumed meal.

Would have been nice if he'd stayed, but he earned his degree, so he earned the right to head elsewhere too. I can certainly see where playing elsewhere in a zone system where you have to think he can win a starting job (given his success in a zone in 2013) might be more interesting to him than trying to play man press here again and potentially seeing less time on the field.

The bonkers thing with Illinois' baseball team is Tyler Jay is easily considered the best prospect, would certainly go in the top 10 if he was being used as a starter (he may even still end up going top 10), but for reasons unknown Illinois uses him out of the pen.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||He also doesn't want to play||
He also doesn't want to play center, he wants to play a NBA-style power 4 if he can, which might even be part of why he decommitted. Purdue is an enormous team that can use him as a 4. That lineup will be gigantic. If they start, as you'd think, Davis-Stephens-Edwards-Swanigan-Hammons, that's 6'5", 6'6", 6'7", 6'8" 275 lbs, 7'0", with 7'2" Haas coming off the bench.

After horrendous outings last time out, I'm not surprised to see Shark pitch fairly well (and career he's been much better at night as well) and I'd expect to see Sale firing on all cylinders tonight. Sort of bad timing for the Tigers to have the starters line up the way they did. Quintana's turned it around after a rough start to the year too, and you don't get to see either of the Sox's lousy 4/5 starters.

We should feel pessimistic not because of this but because Kentucky should pretty much always be presumed to lead for these kinds of guys. Then if we land one, be happy.

I'm glad he gets to pursue what he wants to do while staying involved with the team, and I look forward to seeing him start on Senior Night in a few years, because there's no way the NCAA isn't giving Michigan a waiver for that.

And Yordano Ventura has been at the center of three of those. He was the one who yelled at Trout, he plunked Lawrie intentionally, and he started the crap last night. He got fined after the Lawrie thing, so he's definitely getting suspended for this incident, and I suspect a strong warning from the commish's office that next time it's going to be double digit games suspension.

Proviso East was in my high school's conference. I remember going to a game against that squad, our team wasn't really that bad, about a .500 team. I think Proviso was up by about 30 at the half. Hilariously outmatched, they were playing a different game than our team.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||1991 Proviso East. Undefeated||
1991 Proviso East. Undefeated Illinois state champions, three seniors who went on to play in the NBA (Michael Finley, Sherrell Ford, Donnie Boyce), and the rest of the team was so good that even after those three guys graduated, they still won the state title the next year.
Crazy part is Finley, the one who had the long fruitful NBA career, was not the biggest star on that team. Sherrell Ford was the #1 guy, but he was a Prop 48 that had to sit out a year of college and ended up at UIC instead of a major conference school as a result, and didn't develop as well as Finley did.
I don't count private schools that can recruit among the best because they can choose their team. Proviso East was public, didn't (couldn't) recruit, but had a hell of a program. In addition to those guys, they also sent Doc Rivers, Steven Hunter, Dee Brown, Shannon Brown to the NBA, and piles of other guys to college programs.

Typical "popcorning" involves dumping popcorn to fill up someone's entire car interior, or at least most of it. It's definitely a NBA rookie hazing thing, you can find examples of other teams doing it, just search "filling car with popcorn" or something along those lines.

My dislike of Adidas comes mainly from the bad quality of their uniforms that resulted in numerous torn jersies for the basketball team, and some of the horrendous ideas they've had for unis, especially in basketball (this year's cummerbund/fanny pack, the Zubaz-esque ones, the ones where the uni number is a yellow that doesn't show up on TV, etc)
|7 weeks 5 days ago||The cowbell Go Blue, the||
The cowbell Go Blue, the chanting Go Blue across the stadium, other ways people get noise going, those tend to be discouraged by piped-in music. The stadium experience wasn't broken in the early 2000s. It wasn't stone-age, and I like the bigger video boards we have now, but to me music at college football games should be the band when you have a great band the way a Michigan or Ohio State does. Pipe in stuff when the band isn't able to play because they're heading down to the field for halftime, or have finished the halftime show and are getting back to their seats, etc.
Some of the piped-in music can be fun (like Norfleet's Atomic Dog routine). Use it for fun stuff like that and I think everyone is cool with it. Use it all the time and it becomes another generic football experience.

So Spike apparently has impingements in both hips? Ow. An impingement also sometimes results in a torn labrum. The shaving down of the bone isn't necessarily major in and of itself, but there's probably other damage in there, and the body does need time to recover from that along with the surgery itself.
(Source: wife who has had two hip surgeries, one of which included shaving down the bone)

That's not true for everyone in patent law. If you have a EE or Computer Engineering degree, the market is absolutely fantastic. If you have a Ph.D in Chem or Biochem, the market is decent. If you have pretty much anything else, the market is pretty meh at this point. I, of course, am in the last group. The only people I know making 500k or more are BigLaw or midsize law partners.
