Ohio State's best player, at least offensively, is going to be a freshman who wasn't eligible for this article.

It's supposed to be really nice outside tomorrow. I think I might just go sit on the roof at Gene's Sausage Shop and drink.

Well, the selfie that she appeared to have taken of the two of them possibly naked and in bed is probably better evidence

Purdue has actually figured it out of late. The two weeks prior to the Minnesota game they had ground Illinois to a fine pulp, and then ran it for over 8 yards a carry against Michigan State when you excise sacks.

Manageable, except triggers such as "not getting remotely enough sleep" and "high levels of stress" are kind of endemic to the Michigan coaching job. If he's had trouble managing his condition at Minnesota, I don't really want to think about the result of him in the Michigan job.

|1 week 2 days ago||Er...||
We just won a deeper and more talented B1G last year by 3 games. It seems like Wisconsin is a pretty clear #1 in the league going into the season this time around, I wouldn't be totally shocked to see them do it too. Especially as they have one of the better home court advantages in the league.
One thing that might prevent it is Michigan's relatively favorable conference schedule. Our single plays (Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota in Ann Arbor, Maryland, Penn State, Indiana, Purdue on road) are seriously tilted to having the tougher games in Ann Arbor.

When Kalis is actually healthy, lo and behold, he looks like the recruit he was reputed to be. Now if he can just stay healthy...

Yeah, that ended in the 2002 season. We were told they could damage the artificial turf. At least I'm pretty sure that was the first year of the turf. I definitely know it wasn't 2001 because I remember the massive chunks of sod coming up that season, and seeing a crew of people out there replacing divots and such like at a polo match when the teams were on the other end of the field.

For some reason I think of Lloyd Carr as head coach and Bob Stitt as the offensive coordinator and it's basically the funniest thing ever. Stodgy, old-school, hates the media Lloyd with an open, fun-seeming guy who wears a Stitt Happens shirt? This would need to be a hidden camera show. Hell, bring in Schiano as DC and make it really ridiculous.
(Obviously this is not a serious suggestion)

Count me as one who thinks that a big boycott on Homecoming followed by everyone coming back for Senior Day drives home the point that the boycott is for how things are being run. Skip the day associated with the school, then everyone come back to cheer for Jake Ryan & company on their last home game.

You need to convince John U Bacon to run for regent with you, if that's allowed. 1) He probably shares your thoughts on all this, and 2) COOK BACON 2016 would be the greatest campaign sign of all time.

Rutgers is just as turnover prone at QB and their good RB is done for the year, pretty reasonable shot to win that one

If this is the case I wouldn't be surprised if Gardner isn't even in pads Saturday because he's hurt. Morris has been as much of a turnover machine when he's played as Gardner in the two losses has, but with less of a playmaking ability with the QB run.

If we'd consider hiring an older coach (and if people are bringing up Miles and Bohl, clearly people don't find it that big an issue) then you also need to consider Ruffin McNeill, who has ECU rolling and would presumably bring a hotshot young Air Raid offensive coordinator (Lincoln Riley) who some big programs were poking around re: being their OC this last off season.
I don't see Mullen as a great option, mainly because I think Florida probably will be a more desired destination for him and it seems clear that said job will be available barring a major turnaround.

|4 weeks 4 days ago||These two changes have been||
These two changes have been such big changes in style that I thought 3 or 4 years was warranted. RR had a pretty sizeable talent deficit to try to dig out of along with a wholesale change of the offense. Hoke's staff had some talent issues to deal with in certain important spots and again, a big change in offense. Talent issues take time, because recruiting can take a few years. You can't magically make upper class offensive lineman just appear.
However, there's no reason if Michigan hires a guy who can use the talent on hand on offense (be it pro-style or passing spread, I think either can work with what we've got with the right guy) that this team can't be good in a hurry. There's depth and there's talent. Even if Hoke and his staff hasn't been able to get coach it up, he's really done a good job bringing the talent level back up.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Track record of the right||
Track record of the right coaching hires indicates that you can be great in Year 2. And really, if Hoke is fired after this year, the schedule sets up wonderfully for the first year.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Well if the team isn't going||
Well if the team isn't going to be great, at least they can sell the classic, timeless, Michigan gameday atmosphere... wait, nope, the department has fucked that up too, and expects you to pay more for the privilege.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||If you're going to start||
If you're going to start focusing on new coaches, maybe stop with the pie in the sky Harbaugh thoughts and focus on someone we could actually get and might also fit the players we have so we don't have a horrible transition. For example, Ruffin McNeill might be on the older side (and ECU is his alma mater), but he'd likely bring an Air Raid OC, which would probably work fine with the guys we will have.
Of course, if the offense gets it figured out, Hoke might not be done after this year. I think the defense is there. And the special teams, well, we'll all just continue to shake our heads at that one.

My wife rowed at a different school and the indoor facility is a pretty big thing. They had to row outside in fricking cold temps for several months out of the year and eventually the river they rowed on would get clogged up with ice and they couldn't practice at all. I'm sure the team will still row outside when possible but being able to practice through the winter or in crap weather is a pretty nice thing.
