I don't know if it's that surprising that Sabonis had pretty advanced skills considering his dad was one of the most skilled centers the NBA has ever had even though he came to the NBA with already-destroyed knees and other problems - great passer, shot 37% from 3 his first two years in the league, etc. You have that kind of skill around as the guy you're learning the game from and you're bound to develop your skills earlier, right?

"When he isn't doing that he's urging Penn State to spread the field and "run downhill" one week after Indiana had success doing anything but that."
If only he had seen the game against Indiana, perhaps from the broadcast booth...

So will Lewis be on PSU's top receiver, a defensive strategy we can call the Godwin Law?

I have no idea why they thought a Taco/Godin/Strobel/Ross at BUCK was a good idea for even a single snap. And when IU got Godin/Strobel on together they did a lot of tempo it looked to me to make sure they stayed on the field.
Chalk it up to lesson learned, I hope. OSU will step on their throats like that if they try to pull that kind of thing against them.

I don't get the impression that IU fans want him fired either. This would probably be the case in a typical offseason but ESPECIALLY in this offseason. There's no way they'd end up with an upgrade with so many better (read: every Power 5 job available, plus some of the others that could be stepping stones to a big job) options out there.

Saban's time as an assistant with MSU overlapped with Rison's time there in part, and Bama did apparently offer.

It's the Bryan Bickell contract except 3 years longer, and 250K more cap hit. That seems... unlikely to work long term. Hell, the Hawks already have basically dumped Bicks to the minors only a couple years into the deal.

Yep, not just for grilling either. For checking your thanksgiving turkey, for steaks or chops you cook slow in the oven and do the reverse sear to finish, for pretty much any meat cooking really, it allows you replicable, dead-on results every time.
Heck, if you do coffee in an aeropress or french press, you can check your water temp to make sure it's where you want it too.

The Pepp-O-Meter really should be called the Scoville Scale but perhaps that's too obscure for the average football viewer?

The great hope is that we have like 6 guys competing for the job. Someone out of O'Korn, Speight, Morris, Gentry, Malzone and Peters is going to win the job. With that many guys competing, and with all but Peters being here for at least a year absorbing the system, and with Peters planning to enroll early IIRC, the end result is probably at least going to be decent.

The funny thing is with as many bad football ones as they've done too, I thought the whites with the stripes on the leg and armband looked really sharp on Saturday.
They have a hilarious record with basketball though, between last year's Fanny Pack/Cummerbund shorts, the infamous Zubaz shorts with sleeves on the jersey, this road tread belt crap, all look awful.

ESPN at least claimed that the sports people would still be doing their sports stuff on the ESPN site through their contracts' end, so I'm guessing Hinton, Lowe, etc may still be there, although I don't know when their respective contracts finish up so who knows.
Or they may just pay them to do nothing, because ESPN.

Clay Travis wouldn't know interesting writing if it took the form of Whitlock and sat on him. Good for him for making money being yet another professional troll, but no one's ever going to him for good writing or anything legitimately interesting. The guy shares the "money is everything" philosophy with Rovell. You don't want to share ANY philosophy with Rovell.
I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to get in to Grantland 3-4 years ago and they had no interest. But he used to be a lawyer and his wife was a cheerleader, in case you haven't heard.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah, I concur, the first one||
Yeah, I concur, the first one hitting him right in the chin with the helmet after Rudock throws a pass is targeting, but the one he got hurt on, I don't know how you could call that one targeting. The guy is lining up the tackle to hit Rudock in the midsection, and then Rudock starts sliding and drops down, I don't know how you can call that on someone. He's not going to be able to react that quickly. The result sucked for us, but it shouldn't be a targeting call.
From AFCA: Target—to take aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with an apparent intent that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball.
And in the hints for players, "Lower your target--don’t go for the head or neck area with anything" - that seems to be exactly what the tackler was doing on the second one, going for the body, not the head/neck, and then Rudock changed his level by initiating the slide. And was hit with the guy's chest, not shoulder/forearm/helmet/elbow. Rudock is also not considered a defenseless player on the second one, whereas on the first one he likely is.

Given the replay officials seem to be 50% less competent than the actual game officials, I'm pretty glad the officials aren't being overinclusive because the replay officials evidently can't be trusted to properly sort it out

If they finish the year well they may just keep the staff intact and take the interim tag off of Claeys. Most of those guys have been together (under Kill) for 10, 15 years and followed him up the ladder. This might be a situation where promoting from within is a better idea than jumping into the coaching carousel particularly with as many jobs as are open this time around with the usual limited pool of attractive candidates.
