Kansas fans were worried about that Purdue matchup from the moment the bracket hit. You only need to look at how Michigan State looked against them when Ward was on the floor to know why too. Purdue has two bigs who can really play, and Kansas doesn't really have an answer for them.

Lots of transition opportunities against not very good transition defense is a pretty great opportunity to get Dunc a bunch of those 3s he takes in transition or secondary break as he spots or up trails to his spot and gets found.

They're guaranteed a team that is underseeded vs most power rating rankings. And even those might underestimate how well both OSU and Michigan have played over the last 6+ weeks. I'd be perturbed if I were them too.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||If Indiana is in one session||
If Indiana is in one session and Purdue is in the other, then yeah. In Chicago it tends to be more balanced (due to large amounts of alums of a lot of the schools) unless Illinois happens to be pretty good, in which case their session costs more than the other because they have the most alums in the area.
You can usually get in for pretty cheap in Indy or Chicago, but this year's tickets are particularly cheap. Lower bowl on the first real day for 10-15 bucks? That definitely never was happening in Chicago or Indy.

It's fair if the doctors really do think he is injured to the point he can't play. There may have been some hijinks at Bama on how they were moving guys to medicals (they used it a ton more than everyone else during their oversigning era).
Occasionally there are disagreements between the doctors and the player (Ondre Pipkins, for example).

I have no problem with the theory on how they defended the last play (other than Donnal and not one of the even longer guys on the inbounder), and Irvin's shot was a decent look. The shitty play was whatever the hell our possession before that one was. We got bailed out because Northwestern did the same damn idiotic thing with their possession (dick around with the ball for 15-20 seconds, point guard then dribbles around and ends up taking extremely contested difficult shot)

The burial ground on which Welch-Ryan was built was a little slow on the curse this year but "striking down best offensive player with mono midseason" appears to be getting the job done.
Northwestern's tourney resume really needs a win this week over Michigan or Purdue. It's a lot lighter than you'd expect for a team that still is in most/all the posted brackets

Terrell was outplayed by Dez White, who was a total chump. It wasn't due to the bad QBs, he just sucked.

Yes, it's definitely far less, because if this shit weren't against NCAA rules there'd be way more people willing to send money their way for a variety of things. Endorsement deals being one obvious one.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||The Bloom thing was worse||
The Bloom thing was worse than that - his Olympic sport wasn't his NCAA sport. He played football at CU and was an Olympic-level skier. But he couldn't take a lot of what every other skier could because of NCAA rules if he wanted to play an entirely different sport. As if, say, Rossignol was going to be funneling money to a punt returner on a football team.

Definitely a bad year when the conference looks most similar to the perennial two-team SEC. The best of the B1G aren't as good as usual, and there aren't as many good teams as usual either.

The last one you bolded is a complement to Beilein's offense.
Also "if they're not making shots I don't think they can beat good teams" is right out of the sports section of Duh (from the Norm Macdonald Weekend Updates).

The great part though is that I'm pretty sure right after that vid ends Michigan stole the ball and got a layup. Ball don't lie.

We certainly got more of the ref garbage, but they also took Lynch out of the game for Minny and one or two of the calls on him were also garbage. One was a classic makeup call on an inbounds before they even threw it in.
But the call on MAAR when the guy flopped out of bounds, the foul/tech horse crap, the Robinson block called a foul, and a whole lot more. And the refs refused to talk to the press at all after the game because of course.

At this point I'd rather have Xavier Simpson guarding Happ than Donnal. Dude is just getting abused by whoever he's guarding, every team seems to go after him the moment he comes in the game.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Because Michigan's semester||
Because Michigan's semester ends so early, they can do the bulk of their spring practice in late March/early April and then still fit the trip after finals to be in the 45 day window, and since it's after classes are done, it isn't a university break that counts apparently.
Players probably also could opt out of it but why the hell would anyone opt out of a free trip like this?

|7 weeks 3 days ago||On the contrary, opinions||
On the contrary, opinions absolutely can be wrong when they are contradicted by facts.
Case in point: white supremacists, for example, have opinions. They are wrong. Very, very, indisputably wrong. Similarly as dumb: the very small group of people out there who are flat-earth truthers. Their opinion is wrong, because the earth is not flat.

"Junior Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairn has experience on his side but he's only hit 9-of-24 three-pointers even though opponents are more than willing to let him shoot; "
That's not even a bad percentage, just a guy who doesn't have confidence to take the shots. He's a wretched 7 for 17 from the free throw line this year, so I have to think confidence in his shot in general is a major, major problem.
|8 weeks 1 day ago||The reason everyone flipped||
The reason everyone flipped out about Edsall is a few weeks before the offer was pulled, the kid had specifically asked after Edsall was hired if he still had the offer and was told yes, and then he'd been visited by staff only days before they pulled the offer. We all agree communication could have been better with Swenson but Harbaugh wasn't actively trying to keep the guy only to then pull the rug out only days later.
Of course Greenstein would try to equate the situations because of his weird thing for Harbaugh

An excellent OL coach is likely to get better RB results than an excellent RB coach. Unless you are Barry Sanders, you need the OL to create the crease/hole.

Leopold's beer was a diacetyl-addled mess the one time I went there. Every single beer tasted like butterscotch. Seriously the worst beer I've ever had at a brewery. A few months later when they packed up and left for Colorado I said "good fricking luck selling that horseshit beer in Colorado" and it seems they ditched the beer and just did spirits after the move, which, smart move. They were decent at the spirits when they were in Ann Arbor and they've gotten better at it since.
