This post is dope.

We have…

This post is dope.

We have brought some of it on ourselves as alumni and fan base, but the mantra of Michigan haters is truly laughable at this point.  Not everyone is like this, but the hater contingent has lost whatever minds they brought to the table, and they had so little they could afford to lose.

ESPN "experts" overwhelmingly picked WA to win the game.  The Athletic was more realistic. The money and the Books knew what was goin on.

Too bad basketball is such a mess.  Bring on women's softball!

Agreed about the naive…

Agreed about the naive commish.  He gone.

IMO, you are way ahead of…

IMO, you are way ahead of your skis, and there is virtually 0% chance of any of this happening Friday, particularly since no formal requests from the Defendant(s) have been made for the relief you feel the judge (if he is even the assigned judge) will order.

If these issues you raise ever do become relevant, and there seems to be only a very small chance of that, there certainly is never going to be what amounts to a quick dismissal.  The Complaint is solid, and IMO you're looking so closely at what you feel are the pretty trees that you're not clearly seeing the forest.

Well-stated. For sure.

Well-stated. For sure.

Not accurate.

If there was…

Not accurate.

If there was a denial, there would be an order issued that said somewhere in it, "the application for a TRO is hereby denied".

And I have not read the application, but I would think the relief requested was to stay the entirety of the Big Ten's action, not "to allow JH to coach on Saturday"

This is most likely the real…

This is most likely the real answer, and if true, is a sad commentary on the Washtenaw County Bench.  You work as hard as you have to get the decision made fairly and honestly, and for whatever reason, they didn't choose that route.

Well-stated, but it doesn't…

Well-stated, but it doesn't answer the real question. A TRO application is just that, regardless of any appearance filed. It's ex parte, and the appearance should be irrelevant to the decision.

I feel like your last sentence nails it, but if so, the Court did not do what is legally prescribed of it—make a decision.

This smells like some backdoor procedural agreement between and among the Court and the advocates.

First of all, NOTHING is…

First of all, NOTHING is certain in the law other than if you have a lot of money for legal fees, you have a better chance.

Any answer to this from anyone other than the "judge", whoever that is, is just speculation, but evidently, the moment was too big for them, and they, or he, or she, decided they needed to take a breath before doing anything like issuing a ruling.  Barb McQuade said it best, "Weak."

The reporting has not been good. I cannot even tell who the judge assigned to the case and/or the application for TRO/Prelim Injunction is, and it's not a hard question to ask, and it's a pretty easy one to answer, but there is no clarity, which is not passing the smell test.

It's still a slam dunk case, and hard to envision a scenario where Michigan loses Friday, but, and I repeat, NOTHING is certain. That said, I expect to see Harbaugh on the sidelines come Saturday.

I agree with your first…

I agree with your first paragraph, but not much else.

Ex parte procedures vary by state court rules depending on what state court you are in.  The Latin means "for one party, or on the one part", and a true ex parte procedure the other party finds out about the order when he or she is served with it. Michigan's procedures used to be that way, but that can very by local practice.

I think you can trust these people know what they're doing.  They are on the A team when it comes to lawyers, and the action taken by the conference is laughable, doesn 't pass the smell test, and I feel like we are just waiting for the judge to complete her opinion, which I suspect she wants to cover and explain herself with. It will be heavily scrutinzed, and it's not a hard call.

Quite correct, but if and…

Quite correct, but if and when the judge signs the Order, everyone is going to know about it before it ever is reflected by looking at the online docket.

I'd rather kill time looking at other things; online dockets don't do it for me.

Great observation though.

There is an easy way to undergo litigation, and a hard way, and the Big Ten deserves the hard way in spades.

They are a bigger joke than the NCAA, and that hardly seemed possible.

Any post on the number "88"…

Any post on the number "88" that does not lead with Jim Mandich needs revision IMO.  He was the prototype for the modern-day UM tight end.  RIP, and thanks.

No disrespect intended to the other great 88's that followed him.

Anyone who cannot see this…

Anyone who cannot see this is, IMO, intentionally looking the other way.

If anything, you understated it to be conservative.  It is potentially explosive, especially as the QB grows by the week in experience.

Essentially the only post here that gets it right, yet not even the OP believes it, lol.

I love the phony stat "public" vs "private" money.

Gamblers will believe anything other than the odds are against them.

Nailed it.  This is the dynamic that should occur again.

Cade a bit too slow for keepers, but maybe.  Hard to see him starting that now even though field is often wide open if he would.

I also feel it's valid,…

I also feel it's valid, though "terrible" and "putrid" is hyperbole.  Their athletic ability is pretty good, but they clutch and grab way too much.  They are capable of numerous interference penalties if we can exploit the issue, and you just know they will be set up to stop the run game by stacking the box.

Cade's decision making smarts can take advantage of this if enough passes are called in the right spots, but the line will have to give him some time to do so.

If we become predictable, forget the advantage.

This is what is likely, that we become predictable.

So, this game has inspired…

So, this game has inspired me to make, despite the certainty of those inclined to complain I wasted their time reading this post, or that it should be a snowflake post, or it is old news, released in a prior thread days ago that did not produce a hit after my diligent search—my first comment in a long, long time.

To the complaint makers who then will then by replying use up more of their own time whining about how I wasted the time it took for them to read this post...

There is allegedly a school that's known to all...

And their specialty is winning...

Something, something...vim.

I'd be worried against MD,…

I'd be worried against MD, MSU, and Iowa.  Against WI, PSU, ND, and OSU I am genuinely skerred.

Fab Five will never be back.  National title will only be back if SEC disbands and lets one Big Ten team in 4-team playoff.  Najee will never be coming to Michigan.  Points will never be back.

I was thinking the same.  No…

I was thinking the same.  No disrespect to them, but we would have never won this game with last year's quarterback cast.

Pass defenders are starting to look like MSU db's.  PI could be called on many plays it isn't.  Rest of penalties are just lack of mental focus.  And they often seem to come on ball-possession plays like third and long.

Yes, Pepcat is the king of …

Yes, Pepcat is the king of "the long con".

I fear I will be dead when the constraint plays are actually run.

Brilliant comeback Mortimer.

Brilliant comeback Mortimer.

I rest my case.  Doubled…

I rest my case.  Doubled them in yardage, but still barely managed to win a last-second game.

Sound familiar?

I like the way the defense is coached; I will not criticize McElwain because he is new, and probably is just getting his feet under him.  Wariner the same.

The rest of these coaches have no excuse IMO.

"These guys" = these coaches.  Offense is a tire fire against decent teams.  MSU away will clearly be a loss with this type of performance.  Fitzgerald did so much more with less in this game.

Dantoni will do the same unless JH suddenly regrows his football brain.  Pep Hamilton, well, what can I say? I suspect  there is a reason he did not stick with the Colts and the Browns, and it ain't "competence".

I hope I end up being wrong, but I am not expecting to seriously contend for the Big Ten title.

They have enough players except on the OL.  Owenu looks like a slow bowling ball as opposed to an athlete.  Bad game for him IMO, but can we really expect it to be any different against quality opposition?

We would have lost this game decidedly without Patterson's performance.  We are very good, but cannot seem to climb the final level.  Defense is there.  Offense is not, and with the type of approach on display in this game, won't ever be against a team we cannot physically manhandle---WI, MSU, PSU, OSU.

We may manage to get by WI at home, but MSU and OSU on road look rocky to say the least.  PSU is going to score in the 20's at least.  We are going to have to improve on offense to do the same.

We cannot lose another game. That simple.  It does not look promising at the moment.

Totally outcoached by Pat…

Totally outcoached by Pat Fitzgerald and his staff.  Nothing else to say, these guys will never win anything.

Are you brain dead?
