If anything, Apple has been borrowing from some of Android's great features, like the notification panels and the widgets for iOS8.
I can definitely understand something like fragmentation being a serious issue, but other than that, what advantages are there in iOS?

This probably won't be possible with this new comment system, but I really liked the old self moderation and greying out trolling/flamebait comments. I may be wrong but it seemed to help in minimizing trolls by labeling their comments as trolling/flamebait and then hiding the comment until a mod could review and delete it, denying the troll the one thing he/she seeks: attention.
Also, (and I know this is a mobile app thing and to whoever controls that) it would also probably go a long way in helping against trolls if the mobile apps were closer to the site, and by that, I mean that I see quite a few people here still responding to troll accounts because the apps don't remove their comments (or in some cases, entire troll threads *cough* Peppers ACL *cough*) when the mods do. There are times when I scroll through the app and still see threads and comments that were deleted several hours ago, and I have no doubt that that is how certain trolls like "1927" aka "1928" can keep getting their rocks off.

How do you keep coming to the conclusion that these people were previously exclusively homosexual and are now exclusively straight? How do you know they didn't just find true love and that person happened to be a member of the opposite sex?
It's not reasonable to conclude anything about a large group of historically repressed people based on a small sample in a poorly constructed long term study.

But football prides itself on team unity and sticking by your teammates, which tells me that being a gay football player probably doesn't mean as much to the players and coaches as much as the media and society, where it is still a foreign concept seeing as this guy is, like, the first active college player to come out.

From what I have heard so far (and please keep in mind that this is coming from a good friend who knows someone who works in a minor role on the football team, so even though I trust him, it's still "friend of friend, grain of salt"), Nuss is a huge improvement over Borges in teaching, coaching, and scheming.
Gardner should be more disciplined this year (i.e. he's being encouraged to throw the ball away and not run back as much) but we won't know if that translates until game time. The line (and the RBs) will be better, not only from experience, but from having a consistent game plan that doesn't wildly fluctuate from week to week and is no longer full of a few dozen useless trick plays that they will probably never use. Expect the offense as a whole to be more consistent.
I know that is not exactly news for most of you all, but this story reminded me of that conversation and it's nice to have some confirmation that things are going to get sooooo much better.
Also, this is why I've been saying that Michigan can absolutely win 10 games this year. The Defense should be great and now the offense should be good enough to help win a game or two.

This doesn't really help the NCAA's case anyway since the trial is more about Name, Image, and Likeness rights in television and NCAA endorsements/contracts and not the value of a D1 scholarship.
What interests me is: would this not constitute as a competitive advantage for the (allegedly) few schools that the NCAA says can actually afford to do this? Assuming that this isn't just a Big Ten thing, wouldn't this throw a wrench in the NCAA's "We can't pay players because most of us can't afford to" defense, especially when they just had a a guy from the Conference USA on the stand yesterday who said this:
So how can the NCAA make a defense that one of the reasons they can't pay players is that they just can't afford to, yet vote to approve a proposal like this that will raise the average cost per player for every single sport immensly for every D1 university?

1.) But Google isn't forfeiting substantial chunks of it's annual revenue and openly debating about cutting back its research and development budget just to keep GM afloat. Again, you are comparing the NCAA to other, more competitive job industries.
2.) Many schools have funded rowing teams, swimming teams, polo teams, and plenty of other niche sports for decades, long before basketball and football were even sports, much less the two multibillion dollar cash cows they are today. I don't buy that taking a percentage out of the two largest revenue sports to compensate the players in those two sports will negatively affect any of the other sports.
3.) Not to be a dick about it, but so what? The mail guy doesn't make the same amount of money as an account executive and it would be silly to suggest that he should. There is already a massive discrepancy between the revenue from football & basketball and the revenue of all of the other sports combined, so why should schools keep pretending that they are worth the same and they don't treat them differently? I would bet my future life savings that right now, Nick Saban makes more money than every other head coach in Alabama's athletic department combined.

|11 weeks 5 days ago||It's the same reason people||
The thing is, you can't really compare the NFL and the NCAA to any other job industry as they are both essentially monopolies. If you want to play football straight out of high school, you have three options: college, CFL, or Arena League.
To compare this to a job industry, the NCAA would be like an dangerous and extremely risky 3-4 year unpaid internship in another country with high upside and high downside with thousands of additional competing applicants every year, while the CFL/Arena League are two generic, go-nowhere, minimum wage jobs with very few openings every year. This is obviously not a good job market.
My issue here is this: while the football/basketball athletes do get some tangible benifits like yearly scholarships, some amount of free meals, and housing, they also have to watch other people profit off of their likeliness while not only recieving jack shit for it in return, but being punished for trying to do the same shit that the NCAA is doing. Johnny Manziel might be a tool, but there is absolutely NO REASON why he shoyuldn't be able to charge some money to sell his own damn autograph on the back of jersey with his number on the back of it that was just bought from Texas A&M's apparel store. Factor that in with the questionable handling of scholarships for injured players and I see no reason why the players should not at the very least have someone fighting for their rights in such an unbalanced and gated market.

|17 weeks 7 hours ago||I have a feeling that Dany||
I have a feeling that Dany would be in for quite a brutal shock if she or her advisors truly expect a warm welcome in Westeros. The show has very lightly touched upon this (i.e. Cersei's line about every time a Targaryen is/was born, the gods flipped a coin to determine whether they would be sane or crazy), but the Mad King was not the first psychotic Targaryen ruler. He just lived the longest and happened to piss off all of the wrong houses.
The North still hates the Targaryens for what they did to Ned's father and brother, the former Warden of the North and first heir to the Warden of the North, as Ned was a second son.
The East would most likely rally behind Stannis and the Lords of the Vale, as much of Dragonstone is now for the Baratheons.
The West would rally in favor of the Crown, being Lannister controlled territory. Yeah, they aren't the most popular, but gold wins wars and as long as everyone believes the Lannisters are still absurdly wealthy, they still hold power.
The South would be split. The Tyrells would declare for the king and queen, while Dorne is the wildcard. On one hand, they hate the Lannisters as much as anyone and were loyal to the Targaryens during Robert's Rebellion. On the other hand, if they were offered a seat on the small counsel and, should anything happen to Tommen, Myrcella would become quite valuable as the sole heir to the Iron Throne.
And yes, as a book reader I went out of my way to ensure that no future plot details are spoiled/hinted at for this post. This is strictly show stuff, with some history thrown in.

As of right now, I see Peyton, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers for sure and you can maybe make a case for Eli and Roethlisberger depending on how much you value having a consistently good to elite defense and consistently great run game, neither of which Stafford has ever had. Other than that, I would not take any of those other 25+ QBs, including Matt Ryan, over Stafford right now.

To be fair, they almost made it to the Super Bowl in his second year (79 Rec, 1200 yds, 10 TDs) when he went to the pro bowl with Roddy White.
You figure if the Lions were really in "win now" mode, they would asses the spot in most need of an impact player and see if there is a player who fits that criteria. To me, Sammy Watkins is probably the most likely guy to make an impact in year 1 & 2 if he gets drafted by he Lions, given how often they throw the ball (which probably will not change all that much). bullying at age 10 =/= bullying at age 25
These are grown ass men who are harrassing you. Your boss is joining in. How well do you think running to inform the higher authority would actually go in this situation?
Have you ever been bullied? It's not an easy situation to deal with, especially if you haven't really been in it before.
Let's say Martin fights back. The NFL is his livelihood, his Masters degree, his dream, which means he needs to be healthy to play. Let's say he gets into a fist fight with a (presumably) drunken and now hyper aggressive 300 some odd pound Icognito, who is apparently widely known amogst his teammates by an alter ego "Tornado" when he is plastered drunk (always a good sign of mental health). The odds are skewed heavily that he gets injured and misses practice, or worse, games, or worse, the rest of the season, or worse, gets sent to the hospital with a career ending injury.
But let's say that he doesn't get injured. Now you have pissed off said racist alcoholic by getting into a fist fight. Does the taunting magically stop? Maybe, but I would doubt it, since Icognito isnt a 10 year old fat kid. No, he is a grown ass man. My money is it gets worse and possibly more physical and hostile, since, unlike a 10 year old, he has been doing this for MOST OF HIS LIFE.
Okay, so what if he runs and tells the doplhins leadership. Well, his position coach participated in it and even sent him texts asking him to, essentially, recant his story to protect the bully and the coach. So that rules that out.
What about the Head Coach? A lot of help he was, since he denied all knowledge of anything ever happening in his organization, despite being the HEAD FUCKING COACH. There are no records or indications at all that Philbin noticed or did anything about this. So that rules that out.
Sure, he could try contacting the owner (and maybe he did). have you ever tried to get a hold of a large business owner or a CEO directly? You don't. you talk to a hundred different middle men and women until you get told no because you aren't an investor or a well connected stockholder. So my guess is that the owner would not have been any help.
Point is: Martin should never have had to tell them to shut the fuck up and I don't blame Martin one bit for telling the dolphins to fuck off and walking away.
And, yes, I have been mercilessly bullied by people who I had once called my friends and classmates, to the point where I developed a death wish and needed to see a therapist in order to deal with it. This absolutely skews my opinions on the matter, but I also went out of my way to read the reports and follow the story before posting on this topic, and it seems very clear to me that Incognito and Pouncey are both terrible, irredeemable people who went far beyond "inappropriate joking and harmless ribbing" and into full blown sadism.

|31 weeks 4 days ago||I found this data to be||
I found this data to be surprisingly relevant:
Year l Class Size l AVG STAR l Class Ranking l AVG STAR Rank
2012 25 3.56 7 9
2013 27 3.63 5 7
2014 16 3.44 27 13
If you sort by AVG STARS, then Michigan is #13, right below #31 USC and #4 FSU, yet above #12 Clemson and #10 Miami. If you look at the four teams above us with a similar class size (LSU (#6, 18), Georgia (#11, 17), UCLA (#16, 17), and USC (#31, 15)), you will notice that only USC has less recruits (by a margin of one) and is ranked below us in the overall rankings, despite having a higher AVG STAR rating (3.53 to Michigan's 3.44).
My point here being that Rivals tends to use some crazy hybrid of quality and quantity to determine team rankings and difference in class size tends throw wrenches in whatever method they use, be it a formula or just gut feeling. This would explain why Miami and UCLA's 2012 classes (33 and 26 recruits, respectively) were both top 15 classes to them, despite being the only two with an AVG STAR ranking of < 3.4, wheras most of the others were in the 3.5-3.7 range.
All this data says to me is that Rivals has won the MGoBlog annual "Worst Recruiting Service in the History of Recruiting of the Year" award. (That was a joke, btw)
TL;DR, We are not Alabama. Michigan does not oversign, nor do they engage in creative roster management tactics like phony medical scholarships and JuCo farm systems, nor have they had many Junior players on the roster that were projected to be draft picks. Therefore, Michigan will not recruit ~25 players every class.
Michigan's class, while down this year, is still a pretty good class and the "bad overall ranking" can be easily attributed to bringing in loaded classes the previous two years and whatever method Rivals uses to solve the class size differental problem.
