You started this thread hoping Michigan players go out of their way to physically hurt the other team because of some perceived sleight. But apparently millions of people peacefully marching to protest the actions and statements of the President make them emotionally unstable. Do you enjoy being a hypocrite?

No. This is not the 'Michigan Difference'. Comparing an alum in football to a non-alum in basketball and trying to say thats due to having some sort of moral superiority is arrogant. Lots of good people go to Michigan. So do a lot of people that are insufferable. Holding some moral superiority over that isn't right.

Honestly, where would Colorado's QB rank against teams we played last year? Top 3? People forget that Michigan had a stretch where every team they played last year had very poor quarterback play. So acting all surprised when a good QB, running a pass happy spread is able to hit some receivers is baffling.
Is our defense perfect? No. But will continued improvement from players like Gary and getting guys like Taco and Lewis mitigate those issues down the road? Absolutely.

Looks to be either Speight or O'Korn. Both are similar in height and hair style. Can't be Morris since it is a right handed QB.

Michigan was only in a position to win against MSU due to the hidden punting yardage against MSU or did you conviently forget that MSU out gained us in yardage a ton that game?

Well they are 25th in Kenpom, right behind Michigan, so I wouldn't necessarily say they aren't very good. Definitely a team we are fighting for to be in the top 5 of the conference this year.

I don't know how much influence the AD has on setting game times but a friend in the department said Harbaugh was pushing hard for this to be at noon due to the time zone difference and wanted to take advantage of it if possible.

I actually thought that Bacon gave up too much information by saying that Burger took a leave of absence from the team after App State. Up until that I didn't have a good idea who it actually was.

Listen. A lot of your recent posts have been super pessimistic, which is your call. But if you are gonna lambast Harbaugh's offense at least support it with some facts or actually do some research before posting. He doesn't just rely on 3 yards and a cloud of dust or statues for his quarterbacks. If you don't believe me look at the QB he recruited from NM. Look at Luck's rushing yards at Stanford. Look at his use of Kaepernick for the 49ers. And after you do that feel free to read all the articles out there on how Harbaugh utilizes similar concepts to that of the spread offense but does this through power blocking schemes instead.

If you go by reported 40 times and verticals he is actually more athletic than both of them. More stars don't necessarily mean more athletic.

If seems like you bitch and moan for every single kid that might commit or has committed that isn't a 4 star. Do you not like this kid because you yourself are a great talent evaluator or because you see a single number next to their name and assume you know everything there is to know about the kid?
How about instead of analyzing every kid by a single number, you start thinking for yourself and develop a much more informed opinion of the kid before you pass judgement based on the 'star rating'. For instance, what are the kids offers? What is the actual scouting on the kid? Does this kid fit our scheme? Has this kid attended recent camps? If so, how did he do? Have the coaches been able to study just his film or have they also had the opportunity to see him in person? Also, if he is a three-star, is he a low 3-star, or he is just a couple of positional players away from being a four-star? What are the kid's weaknesses? Are these things that can coached up or not?
I think if you go through each of those questions and form your own informed opinion for these recruits you might find yourself not being so unhappy about the lack of stars attached to their name. End rant.

Heaven forbid a player wants to get paid what he is worth on the open market considering the cash cow that is the NFL. Teams don't show any loyalty to the players so why complain about players not showing loyalty to the team?
|2 years 4 weeks ago||You seemed to convienantly||
You seemed to convienantly ignore the fact that those people you listed are all freshman or sophomores and that Walton, one of those highly rated players, has been playing with a bad toe all year. Even highly rated players can't be expected to to carry a team their first few seasons, yet that is exactly what has been asked of them. It has led to a few poor outings, but one can see the improvement and continued development. So yes, the scrappy underdog narrative is appropiate for this team.

Drummond is well on his way to filling that role. And he was drafted ninth overall.

Exactly. The people that complain about Avila are the same who think batting average and how many RBIs they have are super important to being a good hitter.

You are aware that Kyle Kalis did something similar, except he switched from Ohio State to Michigan right?
|2 years 11 weeks ago||1. I am just trying to say||
1. I am just trying to say that Michigan isn't so stocked with proven running back talent that we can act like we are completely fine without him. Any talented guys we can add to the fold will certainly help.
2. We do not know for a fact they will get better coaching until we get a running back coach and see how they perform during a live game. Until then, we are just hoping that Fred Jackson wasn't a great coach near the end and anyone we get will have to be better.
|2 years 11 weeks ago||That is all? As in that is||
That is all? As in that is all of the running backs on the roster next year and we may be in trouble because one is an unproven transfer, one just tore their ACL again, and the other two have been underwhelming over a large sample size?
Or that is all as in, they had all these recruiting stars and all that glitters is gold?

Trip to the title game was spearheaded by Burke, Hardaway, and McGary with Staukas and Robinson providing support.
Trip to the elite eight was Stauskas, Levert, Morgan, and Robinson.
Two entirely different cores that made those runs and its not even debatable.
|2 years 11 weeks ago||Actually you can. You just||
Actually you can. You just can't keep turning these relatively under the radar kids into first round draft picks. Unless you are getting one and done kids routinely, losing six very talented kids in two years is very hard to overcome.

We made two deep tourney runs with two very different cores. I believe that discredits your Matt Painter comparison, no?
|2 years 11 weeks ago||You can't use experience when||
You can't use experience when we are ranked behind both of those schools and #322 overall in experience. Talent-wise are we better? Absolutely. Experience. Not a chance.
And sometimes those young guys take a few years to turn the corner and play consistently good basketball. Michigan basketball has been lucky to have freshman and sophomores capable of stepping up in the past two years but lets not act like thats a given. Some guys take more time. Chapman will be one of those. His top 30 ranking belies his future potential. Not necessarily instant impact. Thats okay.
But if thats the case, we are left with our three guards, Spike, and a bunch of raw freshman. When those four are on we can beat very good teams. But if one or more struggle we can lose to anyone. Just give it time. This season will be a roller coaster but I expect them them to improve given Beilein's track record and probably surprising you at the end.

Except Beilein has shown he can win a lot of games with an exceptionally young roster. To expect that to be maintained every year is just ridiculous.

This team lost a coin flip to a legitimate top ten tean and has beaten two solid programs in Oregon and Syracuse. If you are going to let two poor games in a 30 game season lead you to not care then I don't know what to tell you. Its within your right as a fan. But come on man. We have one of the youngest teams in the country coupled with one of the best coaches in the country. There will be progression. It won't be as sweet as the last two years but it will be eons more exciting than seeing this team under Amaker or a football team coached by Hoke.
|2 years 11 weeks ago||2013 Michigan football wasn't||
2013 Michigan football wasn't coached by a guy who had already won two Big Ten regular season titles or had gone to a national championship game two years prior.
|2 years 11 weeks ago||Doesn't come close you say?||
Doesn't come close you say? So this team has played really well and lost a coin flip to a top ten team and it has now played poorly in two games against inferior competition. Experience would certainly help with this teams consistency. Oh and so would Burke, Stauskas, Robinson, McGary, or Horford. But yeah, having to play guys like Spike and Bielfeldt most of the game with no other viable alternatives has nothing to do with our performance...
|2 years 11 weeks ago||This team has five schloarship players that aren't||
This team has five schloarship players that aren't freshmen. Three of those are two star flyer level players and one of those has improvred to be potentiallly an all-big ten player. In the past two years we have lost five players (4 first round picks and an early second round) early to the NBA and another one (Horford) because he thought one of those guys (McGary) wasn't going to the NBA.
Does that justify these two losses? No. Is this rough to go through? Absolutely. But at some point these defections along with not recruiting like the Dukes of the world every year was going to catch up. Everyone just needs to relax and be willing to tough it out with this team. There will be more heartbreakers. And there will also be reasons for optimism. In Beilein I trust.
